not back to school

Wednesday, September 5

Shoes: ASOS, Jeans: Abercrombie, Tee: c/o Lulu's, Vest: Urban Outfitters, Belt: JCrew, Watch: Urban Outfitters, Bag: NastyGal, Necklace: c/o Oxford Trunk
*Please note that these shoes, which are obviously capable of murder at any moment, were for an evening out. A photo 30 minutes prior would have shown a pair of very flat, very mom-friendly sandals. Though I have to say, I think I would really enjoy watching someone chase after a baby in these.

This is the second year that I'm not experiencing the "back to school" transition. You know, that itch for a new routine and an empty school-year planner with those white pages waiting to be filled. {There's something about them. I've kept all 8 years of planners from high school through college and they're one of the few things I'm truly nostalgic about.} This almost feels like my first year without it though, since last September I was 8 months pregnant, had just moved across the country and had more "transitioning" than I knew what to do with. This year is different. Though there are still some new changes happening in our life, it feels mellow and settled. I feel myself starting to pull indoors, organizing closets and drawers for cooler weather, welcoming rainy days so we can build forts and and play with gigantic cardboard boxes, and planning new meals for the whole week. {DISTURBING I KNOW. This has gotta be like a one-time thing}
It's funny taking a step back and watching your life transition from stage to stage.
I'm really loving this new one.
