Have you ever noticed that a good turtleneck is sort of hard to find? And "sort of" might be putting it lightly. There are pleeenty of okay turtlenecks. Usually all huddled together on the rack, looking a little down on their luck, hung on those too-big hangers that stretch past the shoulder seam. But the really good ones. Those Diane Keatons of turtlenecks, that only reveal themselves after you've looked in at least five other places first. Ones that have a nice knit, and will stretch just so, with a good sleeve length, not too long, not too short, and that sort of pull in at the bottom and give your waist a hug. Those! Those I hoard, when I can find them. Mostly black ones, but sometimes a grey or a navy blue one will turn up and I'll ask myself What Would Diane Keaton Do? {WWDKD!} which is a question that pretty much answers itself in those types of situations.
