the pink blossoms are here! and a favorite artist whose paintings remind me of spring

Wednesday, April 3

April, is that you?

I don't know if I was just closing my eyes this whole week or what, but it almost seems as if these pink blossoms just decided to burst wide open one night out of nowhere. These cobblestone sidewalks are starting to look pretty darn pink and cheerful around here, and that spring sun on our squinted upward faces feels at least 5 degrees warmer when filtered through those cherry trees.

In honor of such things: spring and pinkness and good feelings in general, I have to show you this artist that I've been obsessed with lately. I started following Lily Stockman on Instagram a little while ago after I saw her latest piece, The Electric Lady and it stopped me dead in my tracks. It is spring personified {paintified?} and I think it's the first color abstract piece that {as far as I can remember} has given me YOWSA feelings. Major fan. Trying not to go on and on. Had to share.

Pretty perfect, no?
