When I think of mom-friendly clothing, honestly the first thing that pops into my head is that favorite soft grey tee. It can't hold a flattering shape to save its life, but quite impressively it's mastered the art of disguise when it comes to smashed pears and blended spinach, so you're pretty much set for life in that thing. That, paired with an obnoxious pair of pepto-bismol pink sweat pants and beaded sandals that only a crawler could love, and you my friend are a goddess -- a radiant vision of practicality and comfort, beloved by ... those that already love you. This is my uniform. On those days when naps will only be taken in my arms and yes, sometimes in public when everyone I know decides to go grocery shopping.
Then over here in exhibit B, you have the last thing that pops into your head when you think of mom-friendly clothing: a pleated silky blue maxi skirt. Easily, the worst thing you could wear if you plan on spending any time at all on your hands and knees chasing after 9-month old Columbus jr. Also platform shoes and a white shirt that does not easily disguise the evidence of sweet baby shoulder kisses during snack time. An outfit like this remains somewhat, if not totally impractical. But the skirt is, after all, the prettiest shade of blue, and it does SWOOSH when you walk {you know you love a good swoosh}, and it can be fascinating to crinkle if you happen to have extremely tiny hands. That's gotta count for something.

You look wonderful and you are so right, it always gets complicated when we think about kids and outfits... comfort and versatility come first.

I've been looking for exactly that skirt, thanks for posting this Sydney!! I just called {to skip out on paying shipping}and ordered one, gotta love the internet. PS - you make this dress look way cuter than the images on their blog. =)
Holy Hottie! I love this outfit Syd! And yes I totally agree a good swoosh and crinkles get a gold star from the baby!
Although it's not a practical mom look, you still look great, no matter the situation.

Cobalt is my favorite and I have a confession. I was sort of stalking your instagram feed during sacrament. I need to repent.
perfect shade of blue. still not brave enough to wear a maxi skirt...but I'm slowly warming up to it. slowly.

swooshing is the best. Even though the outfit isn't very "baby" practical, at least it looks great, right?!

i love it! gotta get out of those sweats sometimes, right ?
xo julesinflats.blogspot.com
While not child friendly, it's an adorable outfit.
As an aside, its pepto bismol, not pesto :D (although any medicine that tastes like pesto would be a win in my book)
There's nothing wrong with a little swoosh every once in awhile :)
Also please tell me how you make those glasses look so good! Trust me, they are not easy to pull off!

I love your outfit! I have to ask, are F21 shoes comfortable? They are always so cute, but make me nervous for how inexpensive they are.

OH my word!!! I love that skirt! and I love stripes...Looking good!
Polka dots...not stripes LOL
I can tell you from my experiences, pleated maxi skirts are totally impractical for dog walking also. But perfect exhibition of swooshing...
♥ ThankFifi
i had a frump fest in my closet that sang the swan song of the ugly duckling for way too long...i've cranked up a new tune that makes me smile. 30s are the best & i'm strutting like a peacock with total impractical outfits just because i don't have any good reasons not to look fab. loving it! smiles!!
That skirt is so awesome! I'm sure little Everett appreciated it! :P
