Last weekend, a big gaggle of beautiful blondes ... and then me, the other one ;) took a little trip up to NY for the day. One of my friends brought her two younger sisters, both of whom had grown up in a small town and had never been to New York before, so it was fun to take them around and watch them experience the city. While we were there, we of course met up with my dearly beloved soul sister forever with a cherry on top,
Natalie and it was wonderful. But that was to be expected I guess since really, the whole thing was just pretty darn fun. Gel manicures, pizza by the slice, a little shopping, girl talk {or mom talk? oh the subjects we could bore you with!} ... a great New York day indeed.

Gosh I miss New York.
I visited from South Africa in 1999 and then had the unfortunate experience of being there in September 2001...YIP was meant to fly home on 09/11 but well the upside (not that there was much of that during that terrible time) of being stranded was.....I was stranded in New York...the city which never sleeps!!
Because I had to check out of my hotel I walked the streets for two days and two nights (had no money left) until a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend was kind enough to take me until I could get a flight home.
New York has a very special place in my heart because I saw the heart of the people.....

Oh I would like to go back. I went there when I was 20 years old, so unfortunately I didn't get to experience the night part of NYC. But I loved it during daytime, too! Have to go back!

sounds like great fun! although that gaggle of pigeons scared me at first; diseased rats with wings is what we grew up calling them in chicago, and they are so comfortable around people, it makes me nervous!

Oh my goodness!! That grilled cheese is from Bouchon Bakery in The Time warner building, isn't it? I work at AVEDA next door!! hahaha that place is DANGEROUS:-)
