There's nothing quite like watching the guy who, once upon a time, was your biggest crush in college, made you late for curfew a time or two, helped you with your calc homework, danced with you in the snow by the light of his old 4-runner's headlights, and smeared your face with a smashed wedding cake kiss ... become the father of your baby. It's been one of the sweetest and most fulfilling experiences of my life. I'm so grateful that my tiny son has such a great example to look up to for the rest of his life. Someone who loves him more than I have words to describe. And someone who also knows exactly the right tickle spot on his tummy, because that's important.
Happy Father's Day to you my love, and to the man who raised you right. And to my own dad who has always made sure that I knew I was loved, even from miles away.
