to market, to market to buy a fat pig

Tuesday, June 19

But alas, there was a shortage of fat pigs that day, so we made do with a few white peaches and a new print for Everett's room instead. Thank you Eastern Market for your bounteous harvest of beautiful, random things and for your little old men that wink and are good at selling the best potato peelers in all the land. Thank you for letting me sit in your orange leather Mad Men Chair {the inspiration behind my newest and cunning brainchild:  Project Procure the Mad Men Chair. It's not going well}. Thank you for the expert finger puppet show just for Everett. He would have loved it if his stroller tray hadn't been so captivating and delicious. Thank you for producing the most perfect Father's Day gift ever. And thank you for giving us an afternoon together, just the three of us. Consider me slayed.

P.S. Shout out to some of the coolest girls, Faith and Noelle! So great to meet you two :)

I've heard they have really good donuts at that market. When we were there visiting, we didn't have a chance to make it out to try them. Looks like fun!

Eastern Market is hands-down one of my favorite places in DC. I seriously miss living right down the street, even though I really love my new neighborhood)! Thankfully it isn't that far away:).

have you gone to the pitango gelato shop near the market? i miss their crema and rhubarb flavors so much. and they make the best black raspberry sorbetto but it's super hard to find because they forage the berries. go try if you haven't!

ah, sorry for the deletes. blogger doesn't always like how far i am from its servers in the US.
