have a nice weekend why don't you

Friday, June 22

Happy Friday ya maniacs! I'm going to be over here soaking up all the good weekend juices with my boys because come Sunday, I'll be in L.A. for four days with the lovely people of Windsor. I'm so excited and thrilled to be able to go! At the same time the thought of kissing Everett goodbye at the airport just turns me into a big ol' pile of public embarrassment. So I guess we're doing the dual personalities thing now. Tyson is really excited to get lots of daddy-son bonding time in with Everett, and I'm so looking forward to hearing the "mister mom" report when I get back {muahahaha!}
Really quick, Windsor thought it would be fun to do a little interview of sorts while I'm there and would love your input! If there's anything you'd like to ask me, feel free to leave your question in the comments below, or on Windsor's facebook page!

Hope you have a very cool first weekend of summer :)

Are you going to do anything fun while you're in my neck of the woods?! You did mean LA as in L.A. and not Louisiana, right? ;)

Oh and a Windsor question... what are you shopping habits like? Now that you have a baby has it all changed?

Have a great trip Sydney! I've never been to LA but it is definitely on my list of places I'd someday like to visit. I do love Windsor (and how quickly things come in the mail from them)! Maybe I will have the celebrate the weekend with a small purchase..

My question is how did you learn photography? Your outfit shots are so beautiful. I have taken a class and it was not very helpful. Did you take classes or learn by online tutorials? If so could you direct me to some good ones? I would love to start a fashion blog but think that unless my pictures look good my blog will be lacking.

1. How do you find style inspiration? Blogs? Do you try on multiple outfits before finding the look you settle on?
2. I love the way you pose for your pics! Tell us how you make it look so natural.
3. What do you look for when you shop? Are there items on your wish list, or do you just go and randomly find things that you like?

I'm a new reader of your blog and just love it. I'm leafing through your old posts and amazed that you had an Everett at 36 weeks and 5 days that was jaundice. I had MY Everett at 36 weeks and 5 days who had to wear the funky goggles too! How strange! He's 20 months now and is our little tornado! (My little girl's name is Ella if you have a girl next). LoL

I'm jut jealous that you get to go to a Windsor store! I love online shopping, but there's nothing quite like trying it on and leaving with a bag of goodies.

My questions are photo related... What are your tips for outfit photos in particular, and especially the editing process? Do you have certain little photoshop tips and tricks, do you crop them much, etc.

Also, as far as posing for outfit photos, any basic tips?

Thanks and enjoy L.A.!!

How on earth do you look so dang cute and stay so modest!?!?! I think "shade shirts" are stupid looking and you can't put a t-shirt under tank tops. That just doesn't flow with me. You are the queen of modest and still absolutely adorable!!! Tell us your secrets!!

Good luck! I just left my little guy for the first time recently, and it was five days. Husband and I went on a vaca and he got spoiled at grandmas. It was TOUGH, but if there is one thing I learned it's that I missed him much more than he missed me!

You have such an amazing life doing what you love with writing and fashion, what a blessing!!!

Here's a question I've been wanting to ask: Denim skirts, in or out? I keep thinking out, but I always hesitate to get ride of mine. I only wear it when I'm in awkward in between phases during and post pregnancy and nothing else fits. But I never feel in fashion when I do!

I started following your blog back when you got a lot of clothing at target, gap and other less expensive retailers.

How do you keep it cheap AND chic?

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not shopping at Nordstroms for every day outfits....

I would love to know how you got so good at photography? Where did you start? How did you learn? And how do you get your pictures to look so crisp and vibrant?

Question: Where do you find your style inspirations? I know you have the perfect little figure but do you tend to shop for your body type or what's on trend?

LA is amazing - you'll love it!

Here's my question: You always wear these amazing outfits, but being a busy mom, where do you find places to wear them? I'm assuming you don't go grocery shopping in 4" heels and an adorable skirt :)

HERE'S MY QUESTION: Your blog has grown very quickly. Would you be willing to share the MAIN things that you feel like contributed to the spikes in your blog traffic and following (besides your amazing content of great style and beautiful pics, obvi!)? The things you've done that have made the MOST difference? That would be amazing! Thanks, and CONGRATS! :)

I LOVE your blog! I have a 15 month old so I soak it all up. The PRECIOUS pics of Everette (my little boy loves the videos), the sweet words about your husband (it encourages me to be a better wife), your totally honest moments (you are so beautiful in all your "flaws" too) and your style. I feel like some of these questions might be answered somewhere on your blog, but I'm a pretty regular reader so I hope I"m not repeating anything...
Questions:
1. Are you a SAHM? (I just thought you worked some from home too...which is like the hardest thing ever!)
2. How do you feel your style has changed since you had Everette (I have just officially become a SAHM and I want to throw OUT all of my clothes from being a teacher and start fresh, but just lost my income...:)
3. Do you have a monthly budget for what you spend on clothes? If so, how do stay in budget?
4. Do you try on a lot in stores or do you mostly shop online?
5. Any great "day at the park and running errands with the babe" type styling tips?
6. Do you follow an eating/exercise routine to stay in shape after having a baby?

Thanks!
:)

welcome to southern california! me and my little family live in santa monica so of course the picture you posted got me excited : ).

i guess my main question for you would be how do you manage your time? my friend and i recently started a design website ( www.2ndandstrand.com ) and we only post three times a week because we are both mom's of young kids and want to feel like we are growing in side things we feel passionate about (interior design), but obviously keep a focus on our families. do you have a daily schedule that you are able to stick too? or just tell yourself you'll only spend X amount of time each day on the computer?

thanks! i hope you have a blast in LA.

id like to know how you 'build' outfits, to utilize the most outta your closet. your colors and patterns always mix so well together and id love to learn how to replicate that. and im on a shoestring budget, otherwise it would be easy, right?!
