the easiest thing you'll ever make with apples besides apples and peanut butter

Wednesday, June 13

My friend made this fancy apple recipe the other day. It was delicious but it looked difficult to make, so naturally I knew I was never going to see it again. It required baking, and my oven and I aren't together anymore. {Doing dishes now is so awkward you guys} For this one occasion though, we were able to come to a mutual understanding over the fact that my friend's recipe turned out to only need 4 ingredients. It was a similar experience to that one time when we bonded over Baking for Dummies. LONG LIVE THAT BOOK

The ingredients!!
That's it! {P.S. If you make your own pie crust instead of buying it from the store you will be immediately disqualified.} Next, pile your apples up like so.
Crumble the brown sugar and cinnamon all over that sucker. I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to brown sugar, so feel free to tone it down a bit.
Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees and watch your oven give birth to brown sugar's gift to the world.
Perfect for chowing down on the floor where the bald ones and ragamuffins play.

June 13, 2012 3:05 PM

yum!! when i lived at home we used to make a late night snack of apples with cinnamon and sugar, but no crust, and just microwave for a few minutes!!

(which means it's ok that you and your oven aren't together anymore! AND it's healthier since you aren't eating the crust :P)

wanna know what else is good in the microwave???

POTATO CHIPS!

This looks delicious. And super easy. I'm a big fan of apple Betty which is harder so I could definitely pull this off.

June 13, 2012 3:18 PM

Ooh that looks so good! Going to have to try this deliciousness. My mom taught me an awesome apple recipe once, all you do is dump as much cinnamon as you like (for me it is literally a dump) on some sliced apples! Microwave if you feel like it.

You are such an incredible writer. I never comment on blogs because...well...i just don't but your blog has been making me laugh since the time I started reading it. Your style of writing is so incredibly captivating, funny, insightful, 'tasty'...I hope you keep writing and that one day you write a book (just compiling 'Awkward and Awesome' would make a bestseller). Because I would most certainly buy it.
Take care!
