On Saturday, Tyson and I got to spend the afternoon together down on the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, white water kayaking. These are a few pictures of us not doing that. But rather, feeling like kings of the river post adventure. Or at least I was. This was not Tyson's first rodeo with the rapids, but it was certainly mine and frankly I'm just proud of the fact that I didn't tip over and that I was able to wiggle off every rock that my kayak seemed to be chronically magnetized to. Next time, the aim is to work a little harder on the "grunt, not squeal" mentality. And I really do mean next time. I totally loved it.
Thanks for planning the most perfect afternoon for us, my love. You know how violent water is the way straight to my heart ;)

Aww where did you go?? I'm thinking about renting kayaks on the Potomac this coming weekend to celebrate the end of my husband's medical school boards, but I could only find the kinda cheesy rentals down near K street!

i don't understand how you manage to look so darn cute no matter what!
and that sounds like such a blast. we went white water rafting in colorado and i felt like a world champ. the reality was that the "rapids" were a tad more than i could create in the bathtub. but hey, you gotta start somewhere!
There is something about rivers...standing in rivers, not white water kayaking...that's so calming.

I totally went white water rafting this weekend too! So fun. (we went on the Kennebunk in Maine. White water kayaking sounds even better though! I'll have to try that next time :)
