Shoes: Old Navy, Jeans: Sisters H&M, Top: Zara, Scarf: Sisters, Hat: Brothers
This trip has been a lesson in paranoid new mom over-packing, right down to the baby clippers. {To which my husband would say and has said, "you know other people have clippers right?" But of course we all know that other people don't have the special kind of clippers ... so yea, they're gettin packed dude.} Commence operation duffel takeover and suddenly my little brother's wardrobe is looking very promising. Also, my sister's. In the olden days of adolescence, you would be hard pressed to find a clothes bartering session amongst sisters that didn't go down without a battle to the death. But these days, it's kinda nice. So dear sisters, thank you for dressing me today. And dear brother, thanks for letting me wear your hat. You get free dibs on my closet this weekend while I'm gone. Not that you care Ethan, but ... you know.

96 Response to this is what happens when the majority of your duffel bag is being occupied by baby stuff

you still look totes adorbs...and don't worry, i think over-packing is a very "mom" kinda trait. my mom still does it and there's only 2 of her 5 kids still left in the house.

April 03, 2012 5:05 AM

Love this look! I'm starting to really love integrating baseball caps into casual outfits - You've done it beautifully! (And that top! I love the leather details)

April 03, 2012 5:13 AM

That's what siblings are for, right? You look pretty awesome for not having packed any clothes for yourself. Your sandals are particularly awesome. x

April 03, 2012 5:19 AM

I still pack the same way for my son (he's almost three now). He is probably known as the most high maintenance toddler ever. Between his hair products, facial oils and blow dryer, my little guys needs his own bag. :P

Oh yea - amazing & effortless outfit...as always! Love it! You might get me to rock hats again. I can't remember the last time I wore one.

April 03, 2012 5:21 AM

Wellllll, I m obsessed with this outfit! So I wouldnt worry about it ;] haha

April 03, 2012 5:22 AM

I would say you did an awesome job pulling this cool outfit together!!!!! I likey!!!!

April 03, 2012 6:17 AM

I'd love nothing more but to share my wardrobe with my sister but she's 4 years younger and way taller so for us it's a no go. That said, I really like your outfit! :D I love the shirt too!

April 03, 2012 6:19 AM

It was crazy overpacking with the first one. For the second child, I was more reasonable. For the third one, a diaper in my purse and I was good to go! It's funny how we evolve as mothers :)

April 03, 2012 6:22 AM

I carry clippers in my purse. What does that say about me?

April 03, 2012 6:28 AM

I love your sandals! So cute! I want to find a pair of basic "play" sandals like I used to get for the summertime...that will go with many outfits!

April 03, 2012 6:32 AM

You make me wish I could pull off wearing a baseball camp. They just don't look that good on me. Maybe I'll try it out again...
Love hearing all of your new mommy stories...they're precious. :)

That top is just so sassy! And raiding sisters' closets is the best!

So cute. Love the top!

Packing for a baby is so hard... I suck at it. I feel like I never pack enough for me or the kiddo. This will be really bad when #2 comes and we go somewhere... that is, if we go somewhere...

I don't have the baby taking over my duffel bag problem just the problem that my laundry pile has taken histage my favourite clothes.

April 03, 2012 8:21 AM

oh man, what you said about bartering to the death to borrow an item of clothing with your sister, I so can relate. I'm the oldest of 6! Now that were all older we just go to one anothers house and take without asking...and no one cares.
as for the paranoid new mother packing special clippers...been there! Wait till you have your next...oh the things the second child lives without is hilarious!

April 03, 2012 8:38 AM

My husband and I went to Hawaii a few months ago with our 20 month old and our 3 month old. I over packed like CRAZY and my luggage was almost 60 lbs over weight! So I sat on the floor at the airport throwing things away and stuffing others in my purse and baby bag. Worst plane ride ever.

April 03, 2012 8:42 AM

Loving that shirt! You look perfect for a spring baseball game, or a picnic.

True story, sometimes I buy clothes in the little boys section of stores. The t-shirts fit so well and are really soft... they don't make them like that in the women's section. What up with that?

I completely get the "over-packing" thing! (Don't worry, I packed the clippers too for our family vacay...you never know!) Packing with a little one takes on a whole new life...I think my daughter had more clothes than I did this past week on our trip! Luckily, you had other closets to pick from...just my suitcase for me!
