And this might sound weird or corny to some of you, but it just got me thinking about how nice it is to miss someone and be missed. That's it. Nothing profound. I'm just thankful for that simple human experience we get to have of missing someone. And how lucky I am to have a little part of that someone with me at all times in the form of a beautiful bald head and chubby tummy. Pretty gosh darn lucky.

What a sweet sweet post!!!
You make a head scarf look look so fab! And I love the new design!
Aw, that picture is adorable! And what a sweet, hearfelt post. :)
This is so sweet and heartfelt. Thanks for sharing your human experience. :) My husband and I were long distance for many years, and when he would express how much he missed me, as painful as it was, it was so good to know he cared.

You mama are gorgeous and that lil' man is a studmuffin!
You are indeed lucky. :-)
P.S. Those sandals are to die for! Love those!
Beautiful post Sydney - always love reading your lovely words and seeing your pretty pictures.

awwww soo true!! it's a good feeling, as long as we don't have to miss them for too long!!!
so true. and you both look SUPER adorbs. :)
I love the way you put things... it's true, we are lucky to be missed. It means you are loved :)

I love the new blog look - simple and classic :) Also, how true - to be missed and missing someone is a blessing!
I love the shoes, where are they from? You look cool!
This post is so adorable and I know exactly what you mean... you and your husband are so adorable and I hope to have someone tell me that a week apart is too long one day!

You are far from corny. You're appreciative. It's refreshing to see someone appreciate things that aren't tangible & that not everyone in the world experiences. Many take thoes things for granted. You are certainly blessed.
BTW. Your nail polish is so cute on your tosies!
How adorable! I love the head wrap. So cute!!

Will you do a tutorial about how to tie a head scarf like that? I feel like dry shampoo may have met its match!
Very cute! I love being missed... It's such a special feeling :)
You said it perfectly. My husband and I were long distance while dating and parting was always an emotional time. Now that we are married it's easy to forget those times but when I do recall them I am reminded of how much I appreciate him and how wonderful it is to know I get to see him everyday and crawl into bed with him every night.
i love this. so true. knowing you are missed can be much needed once in a while.
I also just spent a week away from my husband and we felt the same way. A week can feel very long, but it's so, so lovely when it makes you realize all the more how much you love someone! :)
love this post!!! love your writing girl!!
lovely.
it is one thing to miss your spouse but heartbreaking to miss your kiddos.
totally agree with you

Fact: Being in a long distance relationship for 3 years is Touggghhh. But, you really learn to appreciate every second you have together.

You're definitely lucky to have such a beautiful little family. I can't wait to have a little person with me every day too :) (some day)
I hope the rest of your time with your parents and siblings is fantastic but that you get to hurry back to your baby daddy soon!
Oh, and I love your head wrap!!
Andrea
Left brain, right brain, pug brain.
I heartily agree. While time spent away from my hubs is really hard, there is something about talking on the phone and trying to put into words how much you miss each other. It's sweet, it's very sweet. xoxo
(oh yes, and that head wrap is awesome. you look so bohemian chic!)
So sweet! And so true... That's gonna be one cute reunion :)
I had a friend who once said "To miss someone is a terrible thing" and it melted my heart to think how he longed to be next to his wife.
What a beautiful baby!

I second Caitlin's question- what kind of wrap is that? I'm overwhelmed with how many there are to choose from!
On another note, my husband travels M-F every week and I couldn't agree with your post more. It's great to miss someone and to be missed... and even greater to be reunited.

I love that you are rocking the Moby. I'm taking my daughter on her first flight next week and I'm planning the same thing. Hope it goes well!
Also, you look as cute as ever. :)
as much as i don't like feeling that it's so great to know that your heart is capable of truly loving someone that even when youre gone for a week it hurts a little bit!
i love your head wrap...where is it from?!
It's a love hate thing being away. You miss them like crazy but it makes you love and appreciate them so much more.

You do not sound corny at all. It's refreshing to hear someone express gratitude in things that aren't tangible.
You guys are truly blessed.
P.S. Your toe nail polish is adoreable! So springy! :)
Precious post. What kind of baby wrap is that? So hard to find the right one . . .
Such a cute pic! :)

sooo sweet.
honestly, i've found it to be incredibly healthy for my relationship with my hubs to miss each other some... we always try to make sure that we spend time with our families and friends separately... and being apart for a couple of days really makes me value him that much more!!
awww that is so sweet!
And that scarf, omw, too awesome!!
cute sandals! Where are they from? And I love the head scarf and baby wrap. Ev looks so cute.
My hubbys been gone almost 51 weeks. Should be home in less than 4. So excited!!!!!!!

to miss someone is one thing. to be missed is another. both beautiful things. lovely post! xo
I really needed to hear this today because I'm really missing someone and was sad. But your words make me see the positivity in it and am sad no more! xoxoxooxox

Well said. It's easy to get so caught up in missing someone, that I forget what a blessing it is to have someone to miss. Thanks for the reminder.
I love that you are rocking the baby wrap. Just be careful though, baby should be higher up on you and his bottom and legs should look more like he is sitting in a chair. With legs hanging like that it can cause his displacement. Keep up the baby wearing though!! Babies love being close to mommy like that!
That is so sweet. I totally get what you mean. My bf has been away for 3 weeks for work!! And I am missing him like crazy, I got that same heart jumping-feeling when he called and said, I just wanted to hear your voice cause I miss you..
As always, you find a way to make me giggle and smile. And I'm thrilled to see another momma rockin' the baby wrap!
I think another poster already mentioned, Baby Boy needs to be lifted up higher and his bottom needs a bit more support so he's more seated than hanging. A good way to judge the height is never have him more than a kiss away from your face. Carrying him higher will also save your back from the mommy-arch. <3
Thank you for sharing your gorgeous family with us!
Love the new look! And the adorable scarf in your hair. :)

GIRL. where did you get your pants? please tell me. case.kelli@gmail.com. i am on a quest for long, black, thick skinny leggings/jeggings/jeans that are actually comfortable and extremely form fitting. please let me know. i would be so happy. i somehow just found your blog and i'm so glad i did. love that chunky little babez of yours!
I see some others have posted this already and I hate to rain on such a lovely post but your baby needs to be much higher up in that wrap. There are several tutorials online about proper placement and safe baby wearing. You should be able to kiss his head at all times.
This photo is so sweet and I absolutely love how you are pulling off that scarf!
hey you should post a tutorial on how to pull off a scarf headband!
LOVE this post, SO sweet. you have a great guy, you trained him well lol. PLEASE share where you got that scarf, and I 2nd the other person who asked, please make a head wrap tutorial
Awe cute story....!!! you are so beautiful! love this pic-

That really made my day. My husband just took a new job and he'll be gone a lot. Today is day #5, with ten more to go. I know I miss him, but I also know that he misses our 13 mo. old son more. Tough, but like they say, "Distance makes the heart grow fonder." I sure hope that's true.

Idea: A how to on how to tie your scarf like that so you don't look like a pirate or a weirdo, or like you're trying to hard.
You have made it look so cute!! none of the above.
Love,
Suze
I'm sure it has been mentioned by another commentor (but I was not about to read all 116 of them to find out!). In some cultures, it is customary for married couples to spend a significant portion of time apart in order to allow room to miss each other. With that longing comes appreciation for the other!
