grease

Pants: c/o Windsor, Top: c/o Windsor, Blazer: Nordstrom, Glasses: Target, Earrings: c/o Windsor
{One of the looks I put together for Windsor using some of my holiday faves!}

I'm not sure what to say today. I could tell you about how Tys and I sat next to each other last night and had a very long conversation solely about Ever's delicious cheeks. Or how I'm going into the lactation consultant today and am worried that they're going to judge me because I've tried 5 weeks on my own and am just now going in really excited to maybe feel like I actually know what I'm doing. Or how I woke up to little fingers resting on my face this morning. But that's just boring mama stuff.

Instead I'll tell you that Tys refers to these pants as my Grease Lightning Pants. Pants that would make Sandra D's alter ego proud. Which I'm pretty sure wasn't a compliment. But that's OK. I just wagged my finger and sang him a little diddy about how he better shape up ... cause I need a man ...
He asked for it.

#1 you look fab.
#2 Apparently BYU-I banned skinny jeans. I KNOW, it is an outrage. Anyways, prob couldn't wear those if yall were still in Rexburg!!
#3 the lactation consultants are usually very supportive and helpful. Just be open to her suggestions and do NOT feel bad if you want to start supplimenting on formula. Nursing is HARD. and some women have it super easy and never experience the difficulty some women have to deal with. Hence why they judge :-) anyways, do what you think is best for you and Everett and you'll be happy! No worries girl.
#4 isn't the east coast so beautiful in the fall!? or is it winter now? anyways, we are living the dream here in FL!

December 07, 2011 7:35 AM

Can't even believe you had a baby just a few weeks back. You look amazing! Love those pants too.

December 07, 2011 7:35 AM

You are looking fantastic! If you didn't have living proof, I would not believe you just had a baby! Are you doing anything special to shed the pounds?

Have no fears about lactation consultants! They're lovely, lovely people.

December 07, 2011 7:36 AM

I almost gave up on nursing! In the hospital it went okay... they helped out, but then after being home for a bit it got hard. I just didn't feel like he was getting enough because he wouldn't stay on. For about a week I just pumped and gave it to him in a bottle, but that was horrible...I felt like all I was doing was pumping and feeding. I tried again and it went so much better! I know your story may be different, but sometimes it just takes time! You and your little one will get the hang of it! Keep on trying mama! Good luck!

December 07, 2011 7:43 AM

nursing is tough. i used a lactation consultant too. my baby boy is almost 7 months old and we are cruising now!! stick with it!! once you guys get it, it will be ahh-maaa-zing!! :)

December 07, 2011 7:46 AM

December 07, 2011 7:56 AM

You look rediculously amazing. Seriously, I cannot believe you just birthed a child. Ha. And chubby baby cheeks are the best, and only get bigger and cuter. So talk them on up, I love it. Ps. Breast feeding is a butt kicker, I tried for 4 months before I just had to realize I was stressing my kid out more than I was bonding. My friend just told me about the breast feeding hotline, and she said it helped her a ton. Text me if you're interested. :)(sorry, so much boob talk)

I used a lactation consultant too, some women have it easy and some need a little help! She suggested some herbal supplements and they helped a little bit! Some lactation consultants LIVE by BF and others say you can supplement with formula. I say do whatever feels right to you, take their suggestions but don't live by them.

December 07, 2011 8:02 AM

You just had a baby?! You look amazing!

December 07, 2011 8:03 AM

Do you guys sleep with Ever in the bed with you? I've heard mixed opinions on the "family bed" thing and was just wondering if that was a concious decision ya'll made or if you're planning on putting him in his own bed at some point. or maybe he is and i'm reading wayyyy too much into the hands on ur face when u woke up thing :)

December 07, 2011 8:06 AM

Wait, did you actually have a baby a month ago??? I mean seriously, you look amazing. Way to go Mama!!!

December 07, 2011 8:11 AM

you look hot! nice work!

December 07, 2011 8:12 AM

December 07, 2011 8:13 AM

December 07, 2011 8:13 AM

December 07, 2011 8:16 AM

December 07, 2011 8:16 AM

What was your regiment for getting back into shape after baby delivery?

And, I love this shirt :)

December 07, 2011 8:20 AM

TOTALLY Grease Lightening pants. I'll admit, at first I thought the blog post title was in reference to not being able to wash your hair as regularly as a new momma, lol.

December 07, 2011 8:22 AM

Nursing is so tough. Take all the help you can get. It's better to ask and get on the right track, then to struggle and feel down about it.

And I am SO impressed you just had a baby and are wearing those pants. Women everywhere are jealous.

December 07, 2011 8:25 AM

Where are your shoes from? I love them!

December 07, 2011 8:25 AM

you're so pretty. i love your style. nursing is SO hard. i did not think it was going to be as hard as it was. it didn't work out with us. and i remember feeling so guilty. but don't if it doesn't work out it's okay. my daughter was formula fed and and is a happy smart healthy little girl. so don't beat yourself up. AND your little guy is SOOO cute!!

also, i so wish i could pull off those pants. they are so cute. but a 14 moths after having my babe still trying to get the weight off. lol. :)

December 07, 2011 8:26 AM

December 07, 2011 9:46 AM

I'm Polish. My vocabulary is small, but I use an interpreter. I found your blog today by accident. Fell in love with him! instead of learning to important tests preferred to view the entire archive of your blog. I know it sounds silly, but you are my ideal, a priority. I admire you very much, although you do not know. I love fashion. At the beginning your blog was just a love for her husband. Then there was an explosion and a normal blog has done a fashion blog . I think that the family is paramount. I saw that you're pregnant, I knew with you a wonderful mom! This can be seen in the pictures. Your baby is beautiful. I regret that I do not know English language so well ... but I promise to improve! in the end I have to somehow understand what you write in the posts. I kiss and greet - Carolina!

December 07, 2011 9:46 AM

this is your world, if you wanna learn how to nurse better at 50 weeks so be it. People can judge but being comfortable with a job you take seriously (nursing) is all that matters.

December 07, 2011 9:47 AM

You look amazing! I am loving the Sandra D pants! their great!

You are such a good mama! Don't let anyone judge you! Your mama instincts kicked in and you do know what your doing ;)

December 07, 2011 9:54 AM

PLease stop looking SO HOT and making the rest of us whose babies are WAY older look bad. I mean really, people are going to start to expect us to all look like that in liquid leggings. And I just can't make any promises!

LOVE IT

December 07, 2011 10:10 AM

Hi! My first time commenting!

Don't worry! I'm in the process of becoming a lactation consultant, and trust me, anyone who's passionate enough about it to do the work to come one will NOT judge you for that. They may tell you you SHOULD have come in earlier to save yourself some stress, but they will just be excited to meet someone who's tried that long without giving up.

And by the way, I had horrible pain with breastfeeding my first baby, for SEVEN weeks (only on one side-weird) and NEVER went in. The pain randomly and suddenly went away one day. So strange. And then hasn't hurt again with my 2nd or 3rd baby.

Good luck, and it's SO awesome that you're sticking with it. It's really SO worth it, and so good for him and YOU!

December 07, 2011 10:11 AM

Only you could pull off pants like that....never mind post-pregnancy! You look fab! All of Everett's little friends when he's older are totally going to have a crush on you!

December 07, 2011 10:12 AM

And even if these pants would have been more appropriate for a guestrole in Grease, You still look oh so glamourous! x

Question. How the heck do you look so ah-some 5 weeks after giving birth? I am afraid that your answer is going to be "nothing. It just happened." and then I will cry and be sad for myself. haha. i heart your grease pants.

You are gorgeous! I loved your birth story. I've decided I'm officially the biggest wimp ever! I thought 13 hours in labor was a long time! My goodness!! We had a hard time getting the nursing thing down with baby #2... I thought I'd learned everything I needed to know with #1. ha! Anyway, the lactation consultant told me that nursing is natural, but it's NOT always easy. That made me feel better. Best wishes to you and yours. :)

Nursing is the most frustrating thing a woman will ever attempt (at least in these modern times) It seems we are less prepared than ever to step up to that challenge.
But in echoing what other women have said, it is truly the most amazing experience to nurse your child.
I cried for weeks because I was so frustrated about my inability to nurse my son. But,after pushing through those tough times with pure stubbornness, he and I finally got it.
I nursed him for 14 months and I not only lost all my baby weight (plus some!) my son and I bonded in a way that only Mother's could explain.
Keep trying!

p.s. you look gorgeous!
