over the weekend

Monday, October 3

I wasn't lyin' when I said we were gonna be laying low this weekend. We cozied up inside for most of it. {The weather was rainy and in the 50's all weekend, can you believe it?} There was much lasagna and cinnamon rolls and frozen dark chocolate squares; magazine reading and baths and the watching of Pixar movies ... where husband's favorite thing to say was "I can't wait till he's here to watch it with us... he's gonna love this part." This has also been said of Boise State Football games. Although we won't burst his bubble and point out the fact that his son is probably gonna sleep right though his first football season.

We also had the opportunity to watch General Conference and hear the inspired leaders of our Church speak to us. It's so wonderful to have their guidance in our lives, especially during this time as we're about to delve into parenthood. Sometimes it felt as if they were talking directly to us. My favorite out of the whole thing had to be this one though. Love him.

Happy Monday guys! Dressed in the only old sweatshirt that fits me anymore, some ridiculously fluffy slippers and a cup of hot chocolate by my side, it is a happy Monday indeed.

Word to "the only old sweatshirt that fits me" thing.... amazing isn't it? Somehow w/ my first baby I didn't think I'd grow as much as I did. When I started retiring maternity clothes to go up to BIGGER maternity clothes I wanted to cry....

Loved conference! Thanks to baby hormones I sobbed all the way through sevearl talks, so not my norm. Also, my little one has a BYU cougars onesie (the only university thank goodness), a Seahawks onesie, a Carolina panthers onesie, and a Miami Dolphins onesie. Poor thing. His papa and uncles are already starting the tug of war.

Ugh Boise State. As a die Nevada fan (alumni turned employee) I knew it would suck Saturday. It's pretty bad when you are relieved you only lost by twenty points. Sheesh.

But we will always have last year, bwahahaha! Sorry Ty.

We spent the weekend at home as well. We made homemade doughnuts. Now, I am NOT pregnant but I, too, am wearing the only old sweatshirt that fits me. It's very upsetting.

Sounds like a pretty perfect weekend! Watching kids watch their first Disney and Pixar movies is pretty (to be really cheesy) magical. I can't imagine how much more meaningful when the child is your own. :)

Can you believe General Conference is over. Time flew by! I loved Sister Dalton talk! It was somewhat towards the priesthood and how to raise a daughter. I thought that message was so special because we are daughters of Heavenly Father and we are special indeed! =)

Wasn't conference great? We are expecting as well and I did notice a lot of talks on parents and becoming parents. Maybe it's just cause we are about to be in that boat so we are more aware. Ha ha. Love your blog. (congrats on baby boy.. so fun)

What a lovely weekend! You and your husband and definitely meant to be, and for the long haul!

I hope I'm not the bad lady who shared her 'horror' birth story that you mentioned in a recent post...my natural birth was difficult, but I want you to know that it was, of course, so worth it, and I don't regret going natural one bit!

Of course I hope and wish for a much shorter, easier, birth for you than mine was. :) I shared mine so honestly because I read Ina May Gaskin's book which was full of birth stories where everything sounded so beautiful and, well, easy somehow, and I wondered if the women were being completely honest.

Anyways, you look wonderful, and I'm wishing you a precious final few weeks of pregnancy! Can't wait to welcome your little son.
