we are expecting to lose power tomorrow night. we are on the eastern shore and they already evactuated ocean city and parts of our town. but i am excited for snuggling and reading books by flashlight...
Who would have thought that moving to DC would send you straight into a hurricane AND an earthquake!! Craziness!! Send some of that rain down to Texas! hmmph.
These photos are GORGEOUS. I love, love, love the one of the coffee cup while you're laying down. Hmm... We're only supposed to get a lot of rain where I live in VA but maybe that's still enough excuse for a pie?
We're going into the weekend with a list of supplies to pick up before Irene heads our way Sunday/Monday and the bf has made numerous requests for baked goods if we're going to be housebound all weekend. Stay warm and cozy and enjoy that pie!
Look at you! My bf got string cheese and canned tuna and thinks we're prepared. Silly boy. Good thing I have a crank radio, granola bars, and water stashed away. Be safe!
Oh the joys of living on the east coast this year...never ending blizzards, tornadoes, earthquakes, and hurricanes. Can't say it hasn't been boring! Good luck!
haha bring it! i hope all is ok! my husband works for quiksilver and they are having a huge surf competition in NY next week. it's supposed to ruin everything they've got going... we don't like Irene over here either.
You move to the East coast and within the first month first there's an earthquake, now a hurricane? You guys are just getting all the excitement! Haha. Stay safe :)
The pie looks delish! I had to laugh when I read this post, because we too here in NC are expecting a visit from Irene, and all I have been thinking about is all of the yummy desserts I plan to bake! Stay safe and enjoy your pie!!!!!
Good luck with the storm. I'm lucky enough where it's just going to miss my area. The pie sure does look delicious and perfect to eat in awful weather :)
you're adorable! I didn't comment on your post about natural childbirth, but I wanted to say, YOU GO GIRL!! I went natural with my little one, and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made! As much as it hurt, it was even more beautiful. Being able to feel my little girl's body coming out was the coolest feeling ever! If you want to check out her birth story on my blog, feel free to! www.lungfam.blogspot.com It's definitely worth the pain, and it's so cool to see how much our bodies can handle!!
oooh, I'm kinda hoping Irene won't hit. My plane has to land around the time it's supposed to hit the coast and I'm such a jitterbug. Poor boyfriend, he'll have to sit through all those delays with me, haha ^^ x
The pie looks sooo yummy. Stay safe. My flight got cancel to DC from Brazil due to the hurricane. :( But ill be in DC Monday so hopefully the hurricane will be gone by them. Kisses
I hope you all stay safe. My obgyn told me to take my "What to Expect When you Expecting" book to half price books to see if I could get some money back for it, then handed me the top book in the picture! It's a good read and I turned to it a lot!
yeah i'm near annapolis. we're waiting for it to hit.
since you're in dc, have you had a chance to check out bethesda? it's a cute area. also, annapolis is a must- quaint restaurants downtown :) just a thought. stay safe!
oh sydney, you make me chuckle! definitely hoping all of you on the east coast are safe and sound this weekend...and that you both enjoy that gorgeous pie. xo.
I sure hope you, Tyson and the baby boy stay safe this weekend! I just moved to the North Carolina in June and this will be my first. I love your blog. It always brightens my work days/nights!
I just want to let you know that even though I don't actually know you, I always tell people about you and refer to you as my friend. You're awesome and I love what you write in your blog.

Hey, I wanted to let you know that I put a link from my blog to your Carrie Bradshaw Bun tutorial. That tutorial has saved me so many times, I wanted to share it with my friends. This is my first time linking. Is this totally rude? I figured you would like it, so more people would find your blog, but maybe I'm wrong.
I love you blog. You have honestly really helped me with my style. I feel better than ever thanks to some of your ideas. And, the hubster definitely appreciates it too : )

Stay safe and cool! I don't think we're going to get hit too badly in DC--worst thing will probably be power outages from the wind. Batten down!
Buckle down chica! Hope it isn't too stormy for you. P.S. Thanx for the birthing lit. I am needing more and more references for this.
