Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

Thursday, June 2

Shoes: Nordstrom, Shorts: Gap jeans that I just cut up, Top: H&M, Jacket: Old Navy, Watch: F21
Awkward
- Getting massive headaches every night. Thus walking into the grocery store with said headache, on a mission to get a large bottle of Tylenol cause pregos can't have Advil.
Walking out with a large bottle of Advil.
What happened in that grocery store, I will never know.
- Forgetting your wedding ring and walking around campus with a bump. Guuuuuurl. Oh no she di-int.
- So I'm trying to be nice right? I see this kid parking in a tricky no parking zone - one that I've parked in before and got a spensive ticket for. So I go up to his window and tap on it. Said kid is on the phone. He looks up at me and stares. I wave. Motion to roll down the window. He continues to stare. Still talks on phone. Instinctively I reach for the car door handle to open it. I realize this is a bad idea. THIS IS NOT YOUR CAR YOU DINGLEHEAD. {that's what my brain said} So I patiently wait. Outside a strangers car. For him to get off the phone and talk to me. Que being nice turning into some kind of strange stalker scenario. Yay!
In the end, I save the day. {duh} Kid drives off without a parking ticket. And he tells me I am awesome, while looking at me like I am the worst kind of awkward. Which, moral of the story, I totally am.
Glad that's settled.
-  Being told that "ohmygosh you are so twins with this friend of mine". Meeting friend. Friend is nice. Secretly deciding friend is banned from being my twin.
- Telling my double helping of macaroni and cheese to do its worst. To which it totally obliges.
- Discovering that we desperately need Draino after taking a "my shower is definitely too hot / the room is so pretty when it spins" face plant into the nast-ola soapy water. {p.s. me and b are totally fine :)}

Awesome
- Our bikes! Which were delivered just yesterday. We took them out for a quick spin around the block and fell in love. Don't you love how fancy it is? Oooh, my little bum is gonna turn into a REAL LIVE WOMAN BUM!!
- That husband made lasagna for me at 9pm. With french bread and everything. Then we made out.
- Also, if I hold my breath and watch my belly button, I can totally see the bebe's heartbeat/pulse. {I might get naysayer mommies from this one, but it was totally for reals yo. My pulse is like a turtle compared to that poppin' belly button.
- Classes being canceled on days when I thought I would die if my legs had to touch a pair of jeans. We fully embrace pantslessness in this house. If only we could convert the school.
- Finally hitting that magical 72 degrees. June 1st, you did us proud.

I love that outfit! And that's a pretty sweet trek! I love road biking, it's so fun! Enjoy it while you can because you can't put kids into a bike trailer or seat until they are a year old! (Bike trailers are totally worth the price though, so fun!)

My friend said it was easier to bike around then walk when her baby bump got BIG :)

I think this is my favorite awesome and awkward post!
Its my fav because...
1) I loved that you helped a stranger even though it was awkward. Good story!

2) That you got the "I don't believe your pregnant and not married looks," because you didn't have on your ring. I always got the "your pregnant and look like a teenager" look. Those are bad! I mean, hello when your pregnant everything grows...including your ring finger!

3) Mac and cheese...oh, I love it, but it killed me when I was pregnant. Couldn't eat it.

4) Bikes are awesome and now I want to go on a bike ride.

5) You're just adorable.

ummm so you should totally do a tutorial for those adorable shorts you made from jeans. hahah even though it will be like " take old pair of jeans, cut into shorts" but when i saw the pictures i was like bahhh! because ive been trying to find shorts like that. wow, long story.

So cute! I absolutely love that jacket! And that is hilarious about you reaching for the door handle of the car! HAHA! I wish I could have been there to just watch it all play out - too funny {and awkward :)} And I feel you on the happiness of 72!! Thank goodness it is finally starting to warm up!!

You are just so cute!

Emily said...

hahaha! Glad you saved that stranger and that you're okay after your fall in the shower. Your new bikes look so fun!! Hope your headaches go away.

I could see my bebe's heartbeats like that too, both of them. :) It's pure bliss to watch, isn't it?
You are a cutie patootie. Best wishes!

Love the bike! Gorgeous color choice. I'm a road cyclist myself and the Trek Lexas are sa-weet! Btw you'll get way more biking cred if you take the stickers of your bike. ;)

I know lots of people don't wear helmets all the time (totally a-ok in many cultures and there's plenty of research to prove it. Although you'll find plenty of nay-sayers) But dearie, if you're going to ride preggos, ride fast and/or ride in an area where people aren't used to cyclists on the road I'd recommend wearing one at all times.

Enjoy your new toy! Happy riding. :)

I have a Trek Lexa and love it! Just got it this spring. I took those foot pedal cages off immediatly, they make it really hard to stop and stand up... just a tip!

Awkward: leaving a comment, hitting 'publish', then realizing you spelt half the words wrong.

Anyway, 72 in Rexburg? You guys are lucky ducks. Skipped over Boise. We're enjoying mostly cloudy with a chance of more clouds. Awesome for the Eastern side of ol' Idaho. But I'd say you deserve it with the winters you have to put up with ;)

You look so cute with a bump! I almost got this bike a few weeks ago! It's pretty but my hubby and I have been getting seriously into biking and I loved the colors but I felt for me it would scream "vagina" at the tri we are doing so I got a different Trek Lexa that is red and white. The colors were so nice though and you look great on it!! My SIL is thinking of getting this one- she loved it too! You look so cute pregnant :D

I love to read this series of yours every time you post it. It makes me feel so normal, I always thought I was the only awkward person in the world. Even if your awkwardness is far from mine most of times =)
Love your blog!

Funny that so many people found riding bike easier than walking when pregnant because I couldn't hardly stay balanced on mine for anything! lol That's my awkward for the day, I guess!

Guuuurrrrl, I'd give anything for your little bum, but if you want a REAL LIVE WOMAN BUM, then you're gonna get it with the babe, let me tell ya! I have more than my share of a REAL LIVE WOMAN BUM and every time I get pregnant (3x now), it gets bigger! ;)

Be careful of those showers, they'll getcha every time!

I don't think you want to convert the school to pantlessness. It might be good that you don't have to wear pants, but real bad for your eyes and all they would have to see.

I was just reading your list and compairing your life to mine, (I have two little boys ages 2 and 4) and thinking your list is going to get funnier and longer when you are a mommy because everything about my days are awkward and awesome thanks to these two! I won't go into detail about our trip to the grocery store, just know it involved 2 year old not staying in the cart or near me for theat matter and 4 year old having to go #2 in the middle of shopping! Super awkward and awesome!!!

Loved the story about that guy and the parking ticket! That sounds like something I would do! And a situation I would be in! The awkward part I mean.
Love your bike!! Awesome. Although the first thing I thought of was 'Awesome and Awkward...riding a bike while pregnant'.

Pregnancy headaches are the worst! I have had more soda/caffeine the last few weeks than I have probably had in a year. My doctor said I could take Excedrin. But it has asprin in it so not to take it everyday. I'd ask your doctor about it and see.

Some of your awkwardness might be relieved with drinking more water....like major headaches..could be water dehydration, also spinning rooms...or bathrooms. That happened to me while I was prego...found out I needed more water.
