apparently, the man's a salesman

Wednesday, June 22

Jeans: Gap, Button up: Old Navy, Top: c/o Threadcase, Sunnies: Cassettes - The Yo, Bangle/Necklace: Greene and Sunset
Husband sold our very first baby car this past weekend. One second he says, "I'm just gonna go out and talk to this guy about the car real quick ... be right back" and the next he walks through the door as I watch our car drive away through the window.
Sometimes when I get really mad, I call husband "Poulton".
That's when he knows things are getting serious.
Well.
POULTON didn't even let me say bye. He just let it drive off.
The car that we had that one favorite date at the drive-in
And went on our honeymoon with
And drove to the east coast and back
With midnight burger runs
And sunday drives
And to school and back every day for 3 years
And hanky panky
And long talks
The car that said "Just Married"

... just drove away.
Sad face.

It's a good thing I'm really bad at staying mad for very long.

The layering in your outfit is so chic, and your lip color is total eye candy! So sorry to hear about your car, especially with all the good memories attached with it. It's an incredible trait though that you can easily forgive!

haha.... i was sad when we sold two of our cars, but now i don't really mind the one we have (one of them was my grandparents and ours and it was going to the junk yard (that was really hard for me!)

when will you find out what the bump is?

love the outfit!

June 22, 2011 8:32 AM

Aw, that's annoying. Everything will workout though, everything has a purpose. :)

Aww, that is kinda sad. :( But now you'll have a new car to make a whole new series of memories! Love your outfit! That salmon colored shirt is so cool!

June 22, 2011 8:48 AM

In the 9 years I've been driving, I've had to say goodbye to two cars. Both times I got ridiculously choked up and felt completely pathetic haha!

On another note, I'm LOVING those jeans. I'm way too short to wear them so I'll be living vicariously through you!

Aw, that's too bad. Btw, I'm amazed at how easily you can hide that baby bump!!

June 22, 2011 8:52 AM

Ohh. Be grateful he is a salesman. Whenever we try to sell anything it goes a little like this.."Oh, you probably don't want it anyways..it's not that great of a deal..we're just trying to get rid of it". My husband and I are great salespeople...as you can tell.

Actually, my hubs and I NEED to say bye to my old car. Poor Nessie has been alive since 99' and is still serving as our second car. She's a beast!

And I also LOVE the pairing of that salmon top with the navy blue. But I'm also in love with a lot of things salmon/coral this summer ;)

June 22, 2011 9:10 AM

Boys are so dumb sometimes. Even the cute ones. However, (unlike the guys I date) I bet Poulton knows just how to make it up to you. ; )

June 22, 2011 9:12 AM

It's funny how we attach to things like cars, but I totally understand the feeling, it had so many memories on it, luckily you have a new one and create more happy memories!

Awe, I'm so sad that you didn't get to say "bye" to your baby car either! At least you get to keep all memories because the car without your memories will just be a car. So as long as you have your memories and the people you've made them with, it is the only thing you need. I hope you cheer up soon and make new great memories with your next car! I bet this one will be better after your newborn arrives!

Aside from that, you look fantastic in this outfit. You kind of remind me of a young Rachel Zoe with those bell bottoms! Oh, and your belly is almost nonexistent until you show it off. Great outfit if that's the look you're going for. So cute!

I think this must be a girl thing because my husband sold his car a year after we were married and I was like, "Aren't you so sad?" He's like, "Ummm, no." I had to remind him this was the car we felt in love in!!

June 22, 2011 2:35 PM

hanky panky? really??

June 22, 2011 3:03 PM

That's exactly what happened with MAX. One second we were "looking" at cars the next second he wasn't ours anymore. WHAT?!?!?! I always felt like he left without so much as an appreciative word for all the Rexburg icy grocery store trips, picnics in the park, formal dance escorts, a ride to dinner on the heating vent, honeymoon trip, drive-up ice cream at Larsen's Frostop, first blind date, first make-out, first ski trip, rockin' out with the windows down to Boston on Conference Weekend, first move from one apt to another, subbing as the elders quorum moving van, cookies in the snow, tailgate chats and the smell of coconut haystacks. Dang! I was so sad! Just for the record, I love and miss you, Maxie-poo.

June 22, 2011 3:30 PM

also, if i didn't know you were pregnant...i wouldn't know you were pregnant. well, except for the whole tummy rubbing photo.
