Have you guys seen the BABIES documentary yet? It came out like 2039 months ago ... so you probably have. We're just embarrassingly behind on our documentary watching. Thanks Netflix free trial for catching us up. Anyway. We watched it last night as part of our delicious Mother's Day celebration. {And when I say delicious, I mean delicious. Ahem ....}
It was absolutely fascinating and we both laughed our heads off at some of the antics of these babes. So interesting to see how different babies are raised around the world. It made me realize that my future child will probably be OK if it rolls around in the dirt a few times.
Or maybe hangs out with goats in his/her free time.
Or wants a romp in the grass without a diaper.
I might just oblige.

I have been meaning to watch this for awhile so thanks for the reminder!
That is my very favorite documentary and I came away from it feeling the same as you, they'll be just fine:)
OH my gosh. My husband and I watched this, too! Babies kind of scare him, but after watching that documentary he was all, "They're a lot more durable and fearless than I thought!" We were laughing most of the time [especially at the baby that lives in the middle of the countryside and spends most of his time on a leash being terrorized by his bro]. Love it.
i love the deeper message of Babies - that happiness and wealth do not go hand in hand! so cute! :)
and your dinner looks fab missy!
That's so funny because we watched Babies for Mother's Day too. My husband and I are expecting and had the exact same reaction that you did. We figured that if a baby in Mongolia can almost get trampled by cows and be fine, our suburban baby will be fine too.
So cute...... love

I love that documentary! It's cool to see how children are raised differently around the world. And I felt really relaxed about dirt and cats and chickens after it too. Haha. The African baby was my favorite to watch. He is a cutie!

So funny, we watched this this weekend too with the in-laws! The little Namibia baby is my ultimate fave....the part where he is sooooooooooo tired and catches himself from falling over each time he dozes off had us cracking up. SO cute!!!

Okay, now I've got to watch this. I keep going back and forth between if i should or shouldn't but I've heard such good things about it. Might as well.
I still need to watch it. I've thought about it a lot, but just haven't been interested enough to do so!
I love this movie too but I have to say that the breast feeding freaked my husband out a little, haha.
But yeah, I'm pretty much obsessed with babies so the movie was right up my alley :)
I LOVED THAT DOCUMENTARY! I first learned about it though Joanna (yes THE Joanna from from A Cup of Jo). She recommended it, so I watched it and LOVED it.
it was so precious!
i loved that documentary soooo much
Clearly I've been living with my head under a rock. Must. See. Babies.
i haven't seen it either. now added to my netflix list, thank you.
Loved that BABIES movie!! watched it awhile ago totally put my mind at ease with my own kids like you said its okay if they decided to play in the mud or hang around with the goats..they will most likely be just fine :)
I loved it and I have to say, I was much less uptight with my 2 year old after watching it. Now if I can just get my husband to sit down and watch it. He freaks out at the tiniest spec of dirt on her hands.
I LOVE this movie!!! Soooo amazing!!! Thanks for posting, I think I need to watch it again!
Oh my gosh! I literally started watching this earlier today before even reading your post! It is soooooooo (too many "o's"?) GOOD! Love your blog! Look forward to reading it everyday!

hahahaha. So, this doc totally freaked husband out. Like TOTALLY. But he said he's not afraid of endangering the life of any future children anymore. I LOVE the movie.
I loved Babies! It was such an interesting documentary. And don't feel bad I just watched it about a month or two ago. It was worth the wait anyways <3

I thought that movie was adorable!
The hubs and I love this documentary. We've watched it twice and we laughed the whole way through the second time. The Mongolian baby just makes you die laughing.
Sounds so cute! I'll have to give it a look-see :)
Might I add that food looks quite scrumptious? Yes it does. Excuse me while I indulge...
the food looks delicious!!
I forgot about that documentary. I saw a preview, but forgot about it. I'll totally look it up now. Thanks for the reminder!
I've seen it, I love it. Babies manage to get into the same trouble everywhere.
Check out my cute baby at www.camaree.com
Hi there! I just happened upon your blog (I love how that works!) and am happily looking around here. You've made a nice place :)
Let me introduce myself: I'm Lotte, a Dutch mommy of two, living in Amsterdam. You can find me at http://nutmeggirl.blogspot.com. I'd be happy to meet you!
And oh my god I'd totally forgotten about that documentary and STILL haven't seen it. Sucks. Thanks for the reminder though! It's going on my list.
Happy blogging!
indeed i have not seen it...
by the sound of it, i need to.
oh my. saw it a couple months ago and was mind boggled. my pretend baby is now allowed to play in the dirt. and take baths outside.
isn't it amazing to see how babies are raised everywhere else??
♥
I'm not really a "baby" person, but I loved this movie! Its so interesting to see how people all around the world, not just the babies, live.
http://mylovelysurroundings.blogspot.com
you may not cook a lot, but when you do...WATCH OUT! It always looks so gourmet and delish. I'll have to check out the babies doc too I guess.
i rewatched this movie recently when i found out i was pregnant and it instilled confidence in my shaking soul.
i mean, if the baby who pees on himself and stands in the field with the farm animals can survive, then my baby should be just fine, right? :)
all those babies are making my biological clock tick pretty damn loud. gosh, i'm a sucker for anything cute and small haha.
xoxo lillie

It's interesting to see how differently they're raised in the different cultures and areas of the world, but how similar they are despite that. It shows we don't have to buy them really expensive toys or not let them explore. I was amazed by it.
OMG. I thought I was the only one who watched this from my group of friends. I love how you get to see babies from different parts of the world grew up.
