Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

Thursday, May 26

Yoga gear that I pretty much never take off c/o Purusha, shoes: Nike Outlet
Awkward
- Telling husband, "I think I just peed in my pants a little" and him responding "You little cutie" This is how you know that husband is not really listening.
- Yes - involuntarily peeing in your pants a little. Prego bladder problems starting a bit soon? I think yes. I'm going to be the funnest old lady someday. Maybe even with my own Depends commercial. "Yes! You too can be fashionable and wear diapers! Get yours today!"
- Mistaking a babies clinic for a rabies clinic
- Having a student intern draw your blood. Or do ANYTHING around you with needles for that matter. Oh woops ... missed your vein! Op! Missed it again! haha! that darn vein!
Oh HA. HA. Yes. Keep going! This is fun!
At least, I got quite the manly bruise to impress husband with my bravery that day. Bonus: They also had fairly cool band-aids.
- Husband and I being massively entertained by my uterus. ie: Laying in bed in the mornings, tipping my hips side to side, watching the large lumpy rock in my belly {ie: the magical uterus} sliding from one side and then to the other. It's a wild one, it is.
- The PDA going down in the public parks now that the weather's nice. Seriously people. We can see you wrestling. Put a ring on it.
Awesome
- Husband made a little photo collage for his desktop wallpaper. He entitled it: "Syd's Supreme Hotness" An especially helpful reminder for incredible displays of hotness like below.
- My new body pillow. It has a fuzzier than life pillow cover. And it does this to my hair.
Let the love affair begin.
- Corn on the cob. And string beans. The babe's gonna come out slathered in butter and salt I tell ya.
- Our new bikes! Mine is grey and mint green and pretty as a pea. It's going to take up lots of summer nights and try to make my booty nice and cute-like. We're all very excited about this.
- UHM. The taco bus?! Why did we not discover this small-town treasure before? Street tacos for breakfast - sign me up for 3
- The Voice - two thumbs up. The Office - two thumbs down.
- Memorial Day! Bless your heart three day weekends. You know just the right time to come around.
- When husband and I's sleepiness is exactly in sync. Resulting in fabulous 5'o clock naps. During which we convince ourselves that we shouldn't feel guilty because we'll never get to do this again.
Yea ...

It's been a while peepers! Link up your Awkward and Awesome's here!

Your pregnancy sounds like so much fun ... apart from the premature peeing thing. But then again how often do you get to wear adult diapers?

I also love the sound of your bike, you'll have to let us get a peak of your pregnant self on your bike.

You're seriously funny !!!

I lived for my body pillow all my pregnancy. They are the best !

Ramsey said...

Haha, Dusty {man} and I have discovered the utter joy of the fuzzy blankie (in muy largo size) and have bought about three of them so far. We are a bit obsessive. We saw the body pillows with fuzzy covers in Target the other night and I thought I might hyperventilate {??} from excitement. Only, I'm not pregnant. So I don't have a good excuse for body pillows. But when I am, It. Is. On baby!

The ooooold pregnancy bladder. You never think it starts when you have a small tummy, but sure enough, you start waking up 2-3 times a night to pee! It doesn't make any sense! But I want you to know that it's normal and that we will get through it together :-) "If peeing your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis!" (old lady in Billy Madison)

Awkward moment: Going into the bathroom at work with a woman cleaning her coffee mug. I proceed to the stall. She proceeds to ask me about my day while I stand in the stall waiting for her to leave. Also awkward, immediately thinking I should tell you about this moment.

Awesome moment: When she finally left!

bahaha. I hope your bladder recovers after your baby's here. Mine didn't entirely. Your new bikes sound fun! So does the taco cart. I'm going to hunt down the taco bus for realsies.

Always impressed with a tricksey uterus. Love that cute little bump you have going on in your work out clothes. I need more motivation to get off my ever growing rump.

Karri said...

Oh, the joys of the pregnancy bladder!!! I actually had to go on Detrol with my first PG because my doctor was afraid I'd end up in Depends by the end of my pregnancy!!
And I will never, ever forget when I was on bedrest and pressed the nurse call button because I thought my water broke. A cute, young intern came in and tested it and responded, "no, you just peed yourself."
Most. Awkward. Moment. Ever.

LOL...yes, pee issues starting a BIT too early for you missy!! Mine started AFTER giving birth, I tell you...your bladder control will NEVER be the same...no matter how many 'kegels' you do!! Jillian Michael's reminded me of this, while she killed me doing way too many jumping jacks (on the 30-Day Shred video)!!
And yes, NAP NAP NAPPPP whenever you get the change. Lastly, your body pillow will be your BEST friend over the next few months!

Be careful and check with your doctor before you ride! Your centre of gravity gets thrown off while you're pregnant, and a fall could really hurt you and/or the baby. Just be careful :)
