8 steps to a successful and spontaneous monday night date

Tuesday, March 15

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Shoes: c/o Threadsence, Skirt: Ruche, Top: c/o KatWalk, Blazer: Nordstrom, Bag: c/o One Language {a little ampersand love. cause I'm a designer}
1. Head over to Wal-mart with the intention of picking up toilet paper. (Yes, most of our dates start out this sexy.)
2. Instead, end up across the street with a major hankering for Mexican sweet pork tacos. Proceed to satisfy hankerings.
3. Somehow meander into the next store for some Key Lime pie and a few new music selections.
4. Keep track of how many times you say, "I will NEVER be able to pick out music again without a slice of pie in my hands"
5. Finally continue on to Wal-mart
6. Be forced to get toilet paper against your will
7. Get home and put on matching fuzzy robes {We are not ashamed! OK. We're a little ashamed}
8. Fall asleep on the couch. While it's still light out cause daggum it's 6:30 and the sun's not even set yet.

Haha Sounds like fun! A lot of my own dates with my husband turn out the same. So while I am sitting here reading your post my 4yr old daughter comes up and says 'Mommy show me the picture! " So I show her and she says "Wow! She is so pretty! Whats her name?" So tell her and she tries for a couple minutes to say it and the best she can come up with is "Sin-nee-nee" I thought it was funny and for some reason thought your should know. Maybe if i have any more girls I will name one Sidney so that I can hear kids try to say it! haha

sounds perfect. most of our best "dates" start out not as dates at all. it's the reason i love running errands with Bob so much. it always ends up being the best kind of fun.

I was reveling in the sunlight at 6:30 last night. I looked at the clock exactly at that time and in amazement announced that the sun was still out. It might have been my most profound statement all day.

We are about to run out of toilet paper. Sounds like we have a hot date impending ...

Good think you picked up some toilet paper, even if it was against your will. You never know after Mexican food!! ;) Sorry. I'm a sucker for a good potty joke. And heck yes to spontaneous dates!! Those are the best.

This blog post made me SUPER EMOTIONAL....

Now, I know your probably like, "Whaaaaat?!"

So, let me explain:

I could seriously SEE this entire date in my mind. In fact, I have lived this exact date.

Mexican sweet pork tacos = Bajios
Music + key lime pie = Deseret Book

You see, my husband and I just got done spending 4 1/2 years together in Rexburg, and the whole time we were there we talked about how we couldn't wait to get out of there.

Well, now we're out of there. We're graduated and living in Oregon (where he attends medical school and I'm a teacher).

And guess what?

We miss Rexburg.

Don't get me wrong, progression is awesome and we're genuinely happy with we're where at in our lives right now....but sometimes I get really nostalgic and I just miss that time in our lives.

p.s. Hey, remember that time this girl you don't even know pretty much wrote A NOVEL in your comments sections about how awkwardly obsessed she is with Rexburg? Oh yeah...that was me...oops ;)
