red silk. the non lingerie kind.

Sunday, January 30

Shoes: Jessica Simpson, Tights: Target, Dress c/o Shabby Apple, Blazer: Nordstroms, Necklace: Kohls, Watch: Gift, Bangles: c/o WindsorStore
I guess we'll just call Sundays my domestic days. {see last Sunday's attempted domestication here}. This afternoon I made homemade stew. By myself. Without directions. And without calling my mom. Huge milestone. Huge. After four years on my own, we're finally making some progress. And when I say we, I really mean me. Husband tried to help, but I wouldn't let him. I wasn't about to let anyone else try nabbing the credit for my precious baby stew. I even made it in a silk dress and heels. Because what else would you make stew in? The only thing missing from the get-up was the pearls. Which I substituted for my gangsta chains - as husband has lovingly dubbed them.
He thinks they're real classy.
Right now, this dress is only one of the two red items I have in my closet. Crazy huh? And now I'm not sure why I've avoided red my whole life. It's fabulous dahling. Fabulous. And I will probably be wearing it's silky yumminess every single day this summer. Just a heads up. Unless I decide to migrate south and start early. Escorted down by my matching red airplane of course.
