Shoes: Vera Wang at Kohl's, Jeans: Gap Kids, Top: Old Navy, Blazer: Nordstroms, Hat: Walmart, Jeweled Bib: Giveaway win! from Pig and Pepper
Ahem, ahem ...
Introducing, for the very first time, the fancy shcmancy, large windowed, pretty much the most ginormous university building ever ... duh du daaaa!!! ... the brand. new. BYU-Idaho Auditorium!!!!!
And the crowd goes wildddddddddddddddddddddd!!!{That means you. Go wild crowd} Too bad I can't major in sports announcing huh?
Yesterday, after husband and I stood in line for 45 minutes at the university bookstore, and then treated outselves to some mangosteen smoothies, we wandered around campus, sipping away and marveling at all the schmancy new building additions that we'll be getting to enjoy for approximately one measly semester. For example, the two new skyways that will be preventing all those phenominal crash and burn moments that I've mastered so well on the icy sidewalks. Enjoy them freshmen.
I'm trying not to be bitter. Instead I'll focus on the best thing since freezing-my-butt-off-in-outdoor-pictures ...
indoor pictures!!! Courtesy of the fancy new building.
Thanks BYU-Idaho and that really fast construction company.
I knew you read my blog.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today, I am thankful for the people who work at pretty much the worst jobs ever but are incredibly sweet and helpful to you regardless.

Nice outfit, as always. The building looks great, certainly a suitable alternative to the cold outdoors.

I KNOW! Jason's sissie graduated last semester and I was overwhelmed with AWW (and a titch of jealousy) with the brand new, and totally awesome BYU-I Center.

Anyway, you ROCK that big, fat window lady! woot-woot!

Gosh, you look darling! My bf is upset that the current student building is under construction at his university and will be completed...after he graduates!

Along with adoring your style (and being slightly jealous that you fit into gap kids jeans ;) I have such fun reading your blog because I miss Rexburg. Yup I said it. I graduated a few semesters ago and my husband and I moved to Boston. Anyhoo, it is so fun to see and read about familiar things in Rexburg through your blog. (and I am completely bummed we did not get to enjoy any of the cool new buildings!) So thanks, and I look forward to hearing about adventures in DC. You'll love it back East, we sure do :)

PS: would those smoothies happen to be from the smoothie king? Sounds like something I have gotten there before! If you guys haven't tried it you have it it's awesome and puts Jamba to shame!

I don't know how you braved the cold to take all your pics. Thank goodness to the new building! :)

Don't you hate it when new buildings go up when you're about to leave?? That happened to me too. My school built an awesome gym addition to the existing dinky gym that was right next to my dorm (not that I really worked out, but still!)...complete with indoor pool and waterslide.

i also love your thankfulness note. its really nice to come across genuine people that should hate their job but still smile at you. it reminds me to suck it up and enjoy life, no mater what. i bet if you asked these peeps why they are so happy (even if they shouldnt be) they would tell you its because they have a relationship with God. and that, makes me want to smile until someone asks me "why are you so happy" so i get to tell them :)

I have a question for you. When you take pictures in public places do you ever get strange looks? Do people wonder what you're doing and why you're dancing around in front of the camera? I often think about taking pictures in places other than my back yard but I'm afraid I'll get those awkward looks!

love that your jeans were a gap kids purchase -- i just might have to try that little trick. and doesn't it always seem like universities make changes toward the end of your time there? that's how it always felt to me... at least you get to enjoy the pretty for one last semester!

I LOVE this look, the shoes are amazing and the detail of the blazer with the floral print lining is lovely. The necklace adds some glamour and sparkle but it still looks relaxed and effortlessly chic!

you are so gorgeous! seriously!

i know how you feel, my hubby and i got to enjoy the final year that school was "Ricks College" yes. i'm kinda old... any way, we never got to see any of the cool stuff they did to that school.... except maybe a torn down building or two AND no one knows about "Ricks" so when we tell them where we met we always have to clarify "you know BYU? well they have one in ID except it was called ricks back then....never mind."
