What. You've never fabulously lounged around on your couch with heels and lipstick and your new favorite accessory placed just so before?
Oh you have?
In fact, it's your favorite passtime? And any chance you get you grab your reddest lipstick and your tallest heels and lounge glamorously like nobody's business?

Well grand. Now I feel completely justified in the ridiculousness you see above. The weather is devilish right now ... we had to take drastic measures and shoot in our living room.
Not that it really matters.
So. You wanna know what husband and I did last night? Three words:
High school yearbooks. And ohmygoodness was that some entertainment. See, husband used to be quite the lady killer. And I'm not proud to say that as we went through the books, I basically judged every single one of his old lady friends on a scale from 1-10 secretly in my head. None of them fared very well. But that might have something to do with the fact that they were 16. And had braces.
Anyway, the main point is ... my favorite part of husband's yearbook was the picture of his ever so popular self in the high school superlative of Best Dressed. Wanna See?
aw. baby husband. precious right?
I, on the other hand, was not Best Dressed. Not even nominated friends.
I'm afraid I wasn't cool enough. But guess who Mister super-cool Best Dressed himself married?
That's right kids.
Funny how things work out.

You always make me laugh. And usually out loud. LOVE it! And of course ... another super cute outfit :-)
I really like the purple and mustard together! You always seem to find the best colour combinations, that I would have never thought of.... When I combine colours, I end up looking a bit like a clown... hmmm...
♥
I lovvvee the mix of colours in this outfit - and your beautiful lipstick. That photo is HILARIOUS.

Looking through old yearbooks is the best. And the most embarrassing. Neither mine nor the boyfriend's pictures are very flattering. Hair was awkward, glasses were awkward. ...le sigh.
You look gorgeous, as always. Love your new purse!

Inside shoots work just as well, you look amazing as always!!
And hahahaha. In high school, I was nominated "class chatterbox" .... it was between me and a WAY more popular (Butt kisser) girl, so of course she won...but still. To this day, hubby tells me to hush cuz I get to rambling. :p
oh sydney!! i LOVE LOVE LOVE this!! it's soo very glamourous, you should be in a magazine girl!! i love all the fun colors in your outfit!!
Ha ha I loved this post! Yearbook dates with the husband ALWAYS provide great entertainment. I'm so so glad that Matt didn't know my nerdy self back in the day! :)

That first picture is STRAIGHT out of a magazine! Don't know what I'd rather steal more.. your outfits or your photo editing skills. So great.
I agree with Mindy!
What fun that must have been going through old yearbooks! He may not have had a ten then but he sure does now!
P.S. I'm loving the couch photos! You put a whole new twist on my couch potato Sundays!

As for hubby's yearbook picture... PRICELESS. And kudos to you for even allowing the ex to BE in this picture. I would have ripped her out in a jealous and self-righteous fury. Braces and all. ;)
you look gorgeous! i LOVE the plum/mustard colour combo, it's one of my favourites. ;)
Ridiculous or not, I think these might be your best pics yet! You look gorgeous and your couldn't be any better.

Looking through old yearbooks is such a fun thing to do! Always good for a laugh :) I did the same thing over my break a few weeks ago.
And girlll, there is absolutely nothing wrong with dressing up and shooting in the house! Sometimes it's just what a girl needs when she's cooped up in the house.

You look stunning! I need those shoes! I need that shirt!
Sigh.
P.S. I'm thinking of changing my blog layout. Do you like the template you use/is it easy to edit (for non-art majors like myself?)

Your purse is the cutest! I was never popular. Always the wallflower. Secretly, I liked it that way. I still love my bookishness. Your hubby was so cute!
LOVE the shoes. Jessica Simpson makes the cutest shoes...hands down

I really like the photoshoot for this post! Very nice couch paired with an adorable outfit.
Going through yearbooks is one of my favorite things to do. Oh how people have changed so much since high school..
Love this post! The pictures on the couch are awesome - and I love the throw back yearbook picture.
I know what you mean about the 1-10 scale. I have done that myself. Kai always had a lot of girlfriends and I never dated. However, he was a senior when I was a freshman and we went to the same high school. I had the hugest crush on him, wrote on his yearbook picture and everything. But he had a girlfriend and I had braces ... Four years later, guess who met and fell in love? Win! :D
this is adorable, seriously though love the pictures. i think the couch poses work.
Could you be any more beutiful!
i love those pics of you! so cute.
also, high school yearbooks = awesome loads of fun.
sometimes it doesn't get any better then that.
please dont start getting so full of yourself. I love your style but you're not a model. you bloggers get so full of yourselves then start thinking you're so great. please dont get to that. you're so funny and sweet the way you are.
Vera Wang tights ARE THE BEST!
They sale them at Kohl's too.
And your photo shoot is stunning.
obsessed!

As I was getting ready for church this morning...I thought of your fashion pictures and put together a great outfit!!
Thank you for such a great MODEST fashion blog....!
I hope your success continues and continues...!!
But, really, I guess you showed them, hmm? Hahaha. I bet NONE of the gals you went school with could even dream of being you.
I, on the other hand, didn't buy my yearbooks, specifically so I wouldn't have that kind of black mail just lying around...
Now I want to go check out my yearbooks, sounds like fun! Great outfit as well :)

You look fabulous lounging around glamorously! I'm a little unhappy that I don't have yearbooks to look back on. High school version of your hubby really lucked out! Winning best dress back than, and marrying you lucky, lucky, lucky!!!
No Guilt Fashion
This post made me laugh! And want to grab my husband and our high school yearbooks and flip through them as well. While I never won best dressed or anything, there are some pretty nice shots of me in my boxy marching band uniform and hat. Sexy, right? ;) And somehow Will still fell for me.
I love your outfit as well! You always look so put together and feminine!

WOOO girl I am LOVING your lounging shots!
And I of course love the outfit as well :)
In my singles ward, we do this thing called "nice notes" where everyone just writes each other... well, nice notes...and today someone wrote me a note that said, "Kelli, I really liked your outfit today." I felt so pleased. And I thought, "Oh my gosh, this must be how Sydney feels every day of her life!"
Hahah this was great, I looove your shirt! So floraly!

This outfit is gorgeous! Love the cardigan and the color combo. :)
My hubby and I just had a yearbook browsing sesh. I can't help but look at "younger him" and think, oh man! I wish I knew you then. Always good for laughs!

Love it! And your outfit. Don't worry, the only superlative I made it through high school with was "most mature"...seriously?
Love the new purse, and the purple-navy color combo of the tights and skirt. And I spend at least three hours a day lounging glamorously across various type of divans, faintings couches, chaise longues, and la-z-boys, so this photoshoot is definitely relatable to my life.
I didn't make the running for any high school superlatives either, but if I were going to pick one, I'd probably be Most Likely Never to Talk to Any of These People After Graduation. Yeesh.
the other emily
But of course, I lounge around in red lisptick and super high heels all the time -- although I'm sure I don't look half as cool as you while doing so! And yes, baby husband was very precious :)
hahahahahahaha! husband looks coooooool!
love that outfit! it's amazing! :):):)

Never voted anything myself either, but my sister did get most likely to succeed! very jealous at times i must admit!

Oh gosh, aren't purple tights the best?! I wore mine to work a few times and felt snazzy & slightly inappropriate all at the same time. Oh well, our office needs some color :-)
Love, love, love this look!! All the color and pieces together...fabulous!! I thought this was a professional magazine photo at first...got skills! ;-)

i've been eating kiwi for dessert lately. soooo good.
love these pictures, and definitely planning a yearbook night in the future. too funny!!
I have yet to do this with my husband, and I'm just waiting to see what he says when he sees the superlative I got.....Most likely to have the most kids!

hehe i love the loungey couch pics!
I was best dressed as my senior superlative (I say this as I sit here in juicy sweats with holes and an ohio state sweatshirt that could fit one of the team's linebackers)

I absoloutley love this look. thankyou so much sydney. :).
I love that you "X"ed out her face! So funny, I would have done the same thing. The shoot is really cute and not weird at all. Love your blog!
I actually like to cool like that. Really heels, lipstick, cute dress or skirt and jazz music. It makes you feel just fantastic!
I think I may do that tonight. Love the yellow and purple together. You never seem to disappoint!
You are such an inspiration! I will now go put on my red lipstick and high heels and lie on my couch. It will be fantastic. Thank you.
p.s. you totally should've be best dressed, you are now!

You look so lovely. It looks like a spread from a magazine. I'm also loving those purple tights.
I love your outfit! :) Super cute! I just bought some tights the same color this weekend. :) I wasn't voted best dressed, but I was runner up for most likely to take home to mom and dad. I didn't hit my "style" stride until after high school! lol :)
Sydney,
I LOVE how you are not afraid to mix and match colors. I wish I were that daring... then again, I love reading your blog so maybe one day I will be as bold as you are with your inspiring looks and great creations. Also, I'm a student & photographer, too, but how do you manage to stay so committed to your blog?
Best wishes in this new year to you & your hubby! I love following you and seeing what you have managed to style next. Congratulations!
Love!
Well, I did a lot of lounging today (we had a snow day) but I was rather poorly dressed for it! Next time I'll do better! I love this color combo too!
I love flipping through my yearbook every once in awhile. Also, I'm wearing the same sweater! Love the color! XO

Can you please tell me where your beautiful red lipstick is from? thank you!

I love this outfit! I could probably gush for a few paragraphs on the absolute loveliness of this colorful secretary look but I don't want to waste your time :) I'll just repeat, I love this outfit!
I was voted Wittiest of my senior class. I was completely surprised my peers thought I was the funniest girl. To this day, it's one of my proudest moments.
I love the pictures even if you did feel silly.
Cute post! I love reminiscing and laughing about how we used to look like and the things we used to do, what we used to be. :) Good times.
And I still envy how well you can carry colorful/playful outfits!
