New Years Nails

Monday, December 27

Photobucket
I seem to be on a bit of a sparkle kick lately. As evidenced by my new found love for sparkly nail polish and that sequined shirt I wore yesterday. Yesterday, to church. *Gasp!*
Is that breaking the rules? Not only wearing sequins in the light of day, but wearing them to church?
Well, guess what.
NO. It's not. I just decided. Because they were black. Conservative Sequins, if you will.
And I only tried to shimmy in them once. Pretty good right? I tried to go in for a second shimmy, but Husband restrained me. He likes to save shimmying for alone time.

So I figure this sparkle kick has got to be the result of one of three things:
1. My New Years Eve birthday coming up {and to think. All these years, you thought those fireworks were for the new year or something} and the fact that I want to feel extra shiny when I turn 22.
{I decided 22 is going to be a significantly more shiny year than 21}
2. I'm a girl. And girls need to sparkle sometimes. So says Girl Law. Look it up.
3. This lady and I needed some serious sparkly nail bonding and chat time. Cause who doesn't bond over nail polish?
Random Side note: As the only two daughters in the family right now, FIL Dave calls us his Babies. When we rode down the water slide together on Friday, he was there at the stairs waiting for us. He said, "Good Job Babies" and helped us out of the pool.
Dave is precious. As seen by the very first picture here

i've been dying for some super-sparkly nail polish--yours looks amazing!
what a wonderful birthday, too! i always suspected all those fireworks couldn't just be for that measly new year thing... :)

The sparkles are lovely! I just did my nails in nude glitter for work today. Just a little something to brighten up the mundane.

Oh, and I always thought 21 was going to be an exciting, life-changing year for me. But it wasn't too great, actually. I have a really great vibe about turning 22 this year. It just feels like it's going to be so right and wonderful.

Happy birthday, you dear stranger. I hope that you have a wonderful, wonderful day and a wonderful, wonderful year. :)

I love the sparkly nails! I've been looking for some glittery nail polish for ages and I can't seem to find any :( There must be a shortage in England :(

I think there is nothing wrong with wearing sequins in the day or to church. You even made it look very conservative.

Krista said...

My dear Sydney, please keep up the sequin and sparkle wearing. I have my own sequined shirt and sparkly nail polish and I would hate to be all alone.
