let's get real

As much as I may have given you the impression that it's all googly eyes and rainbows at our house. Sometimes it's not. Yes guys. We give each other the stink-eye too. And let me tell you, I have mastered it. Especially around this time of the month, when I can just feel the hormones raging. Last night when Husband was doing absolutely nothing wrong {innocent as a dove, that man} I warned him, "Hey. You better watch it bud. My hormones are about .5 seconds away from getting really mad at you." But that only makes him laugh and do that annoying "raa-ar" thing with his hands and say that maybe he wants my hormones to get mad at him.
So then I'm in the kitchen and I'm starving because it's 11:30. {If you've been following me on twitter, you know this is my usual munchy time} and I pull our container of cottage cheese out of the fridge, unwrap the Ritz crackers, pop open the lid and .... discover an empty container. An empty container in the fridge. Now that's a new one.
No it's not.
But then again. Sometimes Husband gives me the stink-eye too. Like when I try to take an itty-bitty harmless sip out of the juice carton. {I don't like doing dishes alright?} However, lately this has turned less into a stink-eye and more into a diving leap from across the room to save his precious juice carton.  Although, gaw, I can't really blame him. I do hate that I've turned into one of those people.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall, I must give some credit though. Husband never leaves the toilet seat up, he always makes sure our glass coffee table is wiped down with Windex, and last night he peeked behind the shower curtain and said I just love you so much Sugar. Come'ere and lemme give you a kiss.

I guess I'll keep him.

Must have Ritz and Cottage Cheese - STAT. That sounds so yummy!!

Juice from the carton just tastes better (mostly because it is one less dish to wash)!

Not much daylight time right now, is there? You light up like a cutie though. :)
I love the term "stink-eye." Totally borrowing that.
You look all cozied up and totally rad in that outfit. :)

haha. i love this! i think i'm more of a master of the stink-eye than JJ. he just gets scared when he sees that look. and then i usually feel bad because i realize he is the nicest thing ever and also always does the dishes.

oh hormones, you cause way too many problems. :)

My boyfriend and I know all too well about the stink eye. hehe. But its our imperfections that make us perfect for one another.

Your hair looks fab! We drink out of the juice carton, eat out of the ice cream container, etc. all the time. Ha. Just have to make the mental switch before spending time with other people (or if we have company coming).

ha ha, this post made me laugh! I think my husband is SO sick of me pulling "the hormone" card! but it's TRUE! I tell him "until you are a woman and have to deal with the hormones, you can't say a word" LOL

Such a sweet outfit/post! I'm not big on sentimentality, in fact I'm probably the most un-romantic person in the world (and sometimes it's a bummer) but really, very cute story! Haha love the toilet seat thing, arhh my dad does that sometimes (ew) and it makes me go NUTS. Little sod!

It's my first time on your blog and I just can't stop reading! Maybe I will, eventually, though, when I've read all your old posts.. but really. I like your blogging "style". I like the humor and wit. I love your style too! Wish we had more seasons back here in the Philippines so I could dress up a bit more. :)

You and your husband are so cute. :)

I SO know what you mean about the raging hormones. But I get crazy when I'm tired/hungry, which my husband and I call "tungry." Here's a blogpost I did about it: http://spenceranderica.blogspot.com/2010/11/looking-back-and-laughing.html

Also, my husband leaves empty things in the fridge as well! What the what is up that! But we love them anyway. Way to go us.

P.S. I always tried to do the messy bun with the hair loose in the front but could never rock it like you are. Looks fantastic!

Amber said...

Hahahaha!! My husband tends to leave his trash everywhere. That's our biggest stink eye causing moment. He'll grab a poptart and i'll find the wrapper later some place random!!
He gives me the stink eye for walking in front of the tv while he's gaming! Hhahaha. That's a BIG no no!! ((I will NEVER understand the video game obsession))
Ps--you look MAD cute!

Dear Miss Sydney... I am lusting after your boots. If you fancy leaving them to me that would be lovely. Although, on second thought, I'd probably be able to fit only 3 toes in. You'd better just wear them more instead!

1. i like ur hair like this.

2. night is good.

3. cottage cheese is grody. do u want to know my belief on that? i say...if you eat lumpy things (like cottage cheese) then they'll end up lumpy on ur butt and thighs. thats why i stick to smooooooooth items. like butter. and ice cream. and syrup.

4. yes i'm always this awesome. ur welcome.

Love the layering in today's look! Very cute!

I feel you about the empty containers in the fridge.
A couple of my biggest pet peeves are an overflowing trash can and rinsed dishes in the sink. Hello, we have a dishwasher ... and it's RIGHT next to the sink. ;) Gotta love 'em!

um. i know this is dumb. but i reeeeaally wish my hubsy would call my sugar. guess it's not the same if i have to ask him to. however, he usually calls me "b" and when he actually calls me by my given name (bethany) i find it super-sexy. was that tmi? or creepy? or both? sorry.

Hi, fellow remixer here, slowly getting around to visiting all of the remixers' blogs. You have an interesting writing style...and that gingham shirt, that's the "it" piece of this challenge. Best of luck with the remaining days, hormones and all!

I want that GAP sweater!! Is it old or new?

Rachel said...

wow, this sounds so familiar. my boyfriend and i do this all the time...except the part where we don't share a house or anything (and no peeking behind shower curtains!). it's nice to see a married couple giving each other stink-eyes now and then and accepting that it's a fact of life, not "irreconcilible differences." :)

Victoria said...

It makes me so sad when people break up over a little fight. Seriously, everyone fights. Even/especially married couples. It's life! If you spend every day with them you are going to fight!

But then you get to kiss and make up! ;)

Ha, I'm the same way!! That time of the month = danger. Snack attacks take over my evenings and I get super moody. Thank goodness our men deal with us, right? ;-)

I just found your blog the other day and have to tell you that I really enjoy your candid posts and your outfits are definitely an inspiration.

Also, it is so good to know that I'm not the only one with a husband that does the Ra'ar thing! Although, hubby usually does it when I am already in a bad mood, which, of course, makes things worse.

Thanks for a great blog!

Thanks for all the laughs. How 'bout a tutorial on ways to tie scarves? I always LOVE the way your scarves look. I'm hopeless with that...I've got a million scarfs and only two ways to wear them. Danke.
