Hey guys. How goes it? Wednesday blues got you down? Yea. Me too. But I've got just the ticket! I've put together a couple of cheap date night ideas for you to do with your lova. And if that doesn't make you excited for the weekend, then I'm not sure what I'm gonna do.
Probably nothing.

1. Head to an indoor or outdoor ice-skating rink — nothings better than holding hands, falling on top of each other {whoops! -not}, and grabbing cups of hot chocolate. Our little outdoor skating rink is right up the street. And it reminds us of our dating days.

2. Restaurant Hopping -- Put a little spin on the traditional progressive dinner. Instead of moving from house to house, move from one restaurant to another. The goal is to go to four or five different places without spending more than $10-15. Go one place for a drink, somewhere else for a salad/soup, another place for the main dish ... etc. These can be from anywhere. Restaurant, a deli, the gas station. It's whatever guys.

3. Stay in for the night! Set up candles around your bedroom or your living room, arrange your couch or your bed with blankets and pillows, and have some aromatherapy massage oil {we love the lavender kind} handy with some soft music in the background. Take turns giving each other full body massages. {But you should give your man his first. That way he's all limbered up for yours. haha} When you're both relaxed, have some strawberries. Seriously. You will never taste anything better after a massage. With like chocolate or whipped cream or something. And then you can just talk, or sleep ... or make-out. All viable options.

4. Roller rink baby! Take your date old-school with some disco dancing and fancy roller footwork on the floor. Your man will think it's hot. Mine does. ohhhhh yeaaaaaa. Finish the night off with some old fashioned burger and fries. And like a fountain drink or something. Maybe a milkshake.
OK. It's time for lunch.

5. Sledding!! And then stuff some snow down his pants. He'll really love it. Promise

6. Take a trip to Barnes and Noble. Pick out your favorite books or magazines and find a little spot where you can read together and sip on some hot chocolate from the cafe. If you're brave you can visit that one isle. You know the one I'm talking about. The one that you walk past 5 times just to make sure that no one's there. And then you work up the nerve to actually start reading and someone walks past so you instinctively snap, WHAT?! Why are you HERE?!
No? That's just me? OK. Well. You should do it regardless. Because it will make your man giggle. And that's just fun.

7. Go test drive your lova's favorite car. Seriously. People actually let you do it! And he will love you FOR-EVER for coming up with something like that.

8. Go somewhere that has a photobooth. Bring LOTS of stuff with you to dress up. Boa's, glasses, hats, etc and take lots and lots of pictures. Especially kissing ones. Cause those are the best.

9. Visit your local art gallery and have pretentious conversations about your favorite pieces. haha. OK don't be pretentious. For some reason though we always feel our most refined when we have our date nights at the art gallery. Which basically tells you how unrefined we are.

10. Make a video together. Sit down and just start talking. Talk about how you met, memories from when you were dating, how you got engaged, your wedding, your honeymoon. Anything that comes to mind. Makes for a great keepsake right?

11. Set an imaginary budget for yourselves and go house hunting. This is even better on Saturdays when there's lots of open houses. Pick out your faves and talk about which aspects of them you'd like to have in your dream home. And then go home to your little tiny apartment and cry your eyes out while downing comfort food. It's fun.

12. Teach your man how to apply make-up and have him teach you how to tie a tie or check the oil. But the main thing is having him learn how to do your make-up. Because that, my friends, is hilarious.

13. Take your man to a comedy night. I would never have guessed, but they're actually funny!

Alrighty. So you're gonna do some of these right? Cause I want in on all the juicy details. {Not too juicy now} Let me know how it goes! And happy Wednesday!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh yes. And I'm not doing Formspring anymore. At least not right now.
Life's just too busy busy busy
You understand right?

As always though, you know where to reach me. :)

Love all those ideas!
I read one in a magazine once for a date: flip a coin at every intersection. designate one side of the coin to be left, one to be right. Let the coin guide you to a random place! I've never tried it but it sounds like fun!

I love the whole teach him how to do make up thing. That would probably be hilarious. I think it was last winter, me and my boyfriend went to an open house or two in the neighborhood for condos. It was unplanned and fun, and got to see that some prices weren't as bad as we expected! He did all the little fibs, saying we might be moving in a couple months etc (not true), so sorry for wasting your time people!

Trying to think when my boy and I last went on a date...a very long time ago. Darn busy student lifestyle. We've got something planned for February (our two year anniversary) and March/April (we're seeing a comedian, woo!) but that's about it...that's really lame, I need to start planning stuff.

Love the blue and yellow against the snow! My fiance and I have Barnes & Noble dates frequently - and without fail, the second we sit down there's 3 people having to climb over us and our stack of books/magazines. Makes for good people watching though :)

Great ideas Syd! You are quite creative and I can see why you two are bestest buds too! My hubby and I love to go to the puppy store and hold the puppies (even though it makes me want one sooo bad), take turns picking fun songs to make a really fun playlist and then have a dance party, make an old school fort with chairs, a sheet and pillows and watch a movie.

By the way, you put amaze me with how you put outfits together!
