White Out

I’m sitting here in the front seat of the car. Husband is driving, sissy is in the backseat, we’re rockin out to Bing Crosby and chowin down on these spicy hot Jalapeño chips that are burning my mouth right up. No seriously. BURNING. UP. I just might die actually. I have a very low pain tolerance and am convinced that any level of physical discomfort is going to kill me. Anytime I go to the doctor, whether it be for a minor ankle sprain or something like, I don’t know … ovarian cysts {those crappers}, and the Doc asks me to rate what pain level I’m at, my response never fails, “It’s a 10 Doc, maybe an 11. I think I’m dying.” For some reason this never fazes Doc, and he meanders around like I said it was a 3 or something. And that’s when I want to punch him in the face. But instead I just up the melodrama a bit, which usually convinces him I’m a little closer to death than he originally thought.
Anyway, we’re currently driving through a white out. It’s 11 degrees out. Which really means negative 56 when you factor in the wind chill. We tried to fill up with gas before we left, but both stations we went to had their pumps frozen over. We love our town, we love our town, we love our town …

Forget it. Right now, I kind of hate it. But hey, we’re on our way to a bunch of family and delicious food and late nights spent around the kitchen table with our favorite board games. Cheers friends! And have a lovely Thanksgiving!

haha i do the same thing! then i look at the pain chart and feel really bad when i see what a 10 is supposed to mean. and my mom tells me to never have babies because my pain threshold is so low. bah!

happy thanksgiving to you and your family! drive safe :)

pee.ess. great job on the formspring questions. people can be super intense (and excessively impolite) on there, and you handle it so well.

I loooove that pretty white fluffy stuff! want it to snow HERE! Do you get snow days often where you live?

I'm a hypochondriac (yes, that's one thing I know I have for certain... heh) and minor aches and pains will send me off on a "I have cancer/a disease" spree! I come up with some roundabout ways to convince myself I'm right. Wait, why I am a telling you this? ... Oh yeah! Because I'm very similar at the doctors office! And that part made me laugh. :)

Hope you all have a great day!

I suffer ovarian cysts too, they can be horrible can't they? I might employ more melodrama when I talk to my doctor next, you never know it might work.

Your sister looks so awkward and uncomfortable.. hilarious. That's how it is whenever I try to get my sister in a picture.. or maybe the poor thing is just freezin' her buns off! No snow on the ground in Michigan yet! Thankfully.. I'm so not jealous of you. That disaster will be here soon enough! Lol

I have gone nuts munching wasabi nuts today so I know the shredded-mouth-pain-but-I-think-I-ll-go-ahead-and-have-one-more feeling. :D

I am a pain down player. Even if I think my pain is an 11 I will usually rate it as a five. I think I am always trying to impress everybody with how hard I am (not).

Ah snow! I'm looking forward to our first snow fall (surprised we still don't have any). Love when everything is covered in white. But it ain't so much fun driving in it.

I can attest freezing climates, my old hometown was cold and windy during the winter!
