Shoes: Charlotte Russe, Pants: Target, Belt: Gap, Baby Pink sweater: F21, Blouse: F21, Flower pin: In honor of designMy hair and make-up thought we were going to a Christmas Party today. They were absolutely sure of it. So they pulled out their big guns and whipped me into shape with their most fabulous colors and fanciest swirly do. After I looked in the mirror I told them, “Hey, good job guys! You look great!” And they said, “Um. We know. We’re going to a Christmas Party today.” And that’s when I had to break the news to them. I told them that they were not going to a Christmas Party. No, in fact they were actually going to school. All. Day. Long.
It broke their little fancy hearts and they cried and cried. Which made me start to cry. And we all had a big crying party together, mourning over the fact that we were indeed, not going to a Christmas Party. It was a sad little moment.
But then after a while … I pulled it together and consoled their fancy hearts by reading scrumptious Thanksgiving recipes out of my cookbook and telling them tales of the good things to come. And that made us all feel a little bit better.
Moral of the story:
1. I’m awesome at turning inanimate objects into real things with real feelings who can both understand and relate to me.
And 2. I’m SO ready for the holidays to get here. Who’s with me?!
