Yesterday in church we had a lesson on forgiveness. And it was very good.
During the lesson, we were asked to complete an exercise in which each spouse turned to the other and said "I'm sorry" for their respective offenses .. {whether big or small} that had happened during the past week.
Husband turned to me, with a very scrunched up guilty face and said, "I'm sorry that I watched football too much on Saturday and that I didn't spend nearly enough time with you because of it."
Great apology right? He's sweet.
I said, "It's OK honey. I appreciate that."
And then it was my turn.
I said, "mmm. I can't think of anything I should apologize for."
Off to a great start ...
And then I thought of it.
"Oh wait, I know what I'll apologize for. Love, I'm sorry that when you didn't take me out on that date Saturday night like you had promised and looked me dead straight in the eye and crossed your heart about, that I got a little bit cranky."
Superb apologizing skills or superb guilt-tripping skills?

I really enjoyed this post, it is so funny! Deff superb guilt tripping skills! I most confess I do the same thing with my fiance as well! And I love the outfit for today, very cute!

I'm the same way as you. I have issues at apologizing or even when I do it's sort of a guilt trip.

I'm good at those apologies too. And my husband, bless his heart, does feel guilty. Which makes me feel guilty. So I guess no one wins. :)

I would go with both on the apology/guilt thing. I'm so glad I don't get asked stuff like this, I mean I do things that I need to apologise for because I'm only human but I don't always remember it until afterwards. Then it's too late and apologising just seems really awkward and weird...so I do it anyway and seem awkward and weird.
