saturday in the park

Turns out our weekend wasn't as rainy and chilly as we had anticipated. Actually, it was quite the opposite. So we spent it outside where it was sunny and beautiful and crisp and so good it will forever go down in our books as "that one day we had in the park". Throwing a football was never my thing. But it is very much husbands thing. So we brought our football and threw it around. He taught me how to throw a spiral {or tried to, at least} and I showed him what a quarterback / runningback / hiker looks like as a one woman show. Yes, it can be done. {And you wanna play one-on-one football with me now just to see, don'tcha.} Then we hunkered down on our blanket and tried to pick out which of the couples around us were married or dating, {the dating ones, obviously in ucky-touchy-kissy mode} ate our strawberries, watched funny flight of the concords videos, and ignored our stack of textbooks we'd brought just in case we'd felt like being productive. We didn't.

Hoorah for beautiful, summer weather sticking around for just a little longer.

That's funny. When Roland and I were dating, I taught HIM how to throw a spiral! He can throw it harder and farther than I can, but I throw a better spiral!
