Dress, Anthropologie replica home-sewn, Belt Ralph Lauren, Shoes Michael Kors, Pearls thrifted
Could I get three cheers for this dress?! Or rather three cheers for my sissy not making her bridemaids wear something that would illicit tears of shame 20 years from now? Many thanks, Caytlyn. You're a hero in the books of wedded history.
I wore this to church today, dressed up with some pearls and Ruby-Woo lipstick, praying to goodness that I didn't resemble a first-lady wannabe.
I can't decide if I failed or not.

On a sappy, erm ... different note, Husband spoke in church today.
He was wonderful. I really mean it ...
won.
der.
ful.
I sat in the pew watching him and was suddenly in love. Which sounds weird, but that's how it felt. I was reminded of exactly the reasons why I married him. I got Nala Eyes. You know, Nala in the Lion King? When they're romping down the side of the hill and "can you feel the love tonight?" is settin' the mood in the background. Then she leans back in the grass, after he's pinned her down and she gives him ... THAT LOOK ... the Nala Eyes.
Well, I got that today.
And honestly I think all marrieds need moments like that sometimes. We live together. We dress together. We go to the bathroom in front of each other. We smell each other's morning breath. Mystique? --- forget it. So, every once in awhile, when you get that chance, it's nice to see your spouse in a situation outside of the day-to-day routine --- it just keeps that spark burnin' baby.

So.
Let it go down in the books, that today, I fell in love again.

You make that dress look good Sis! A beautiful bride...and bridesmaid. Say hi to Husband for me.

You look SO good! I am in love with the whole ensemble. I love your blog too. You're fun to read. I totally know the Nala eyes, and I too have fallen in love with my husband during a church talk. What is it about that? We always talk about having moments where we're silently "proud" to be married to each other.

I love this dress. It is extremely rare when someone gets to wear a bridesmaid dress again.

I hardly even recognized you with lipstick on! It changes your whole look! ...I also love the mention of the marrieds. I used to LOVE the mystery surrounding myself in the beginning of a new relationship, and when that went away, I ran away. Now that I am married, I'm not doing THAT, but I do sometimes yearn for that old feeling of newness, even though I mostly adore the warm feeling of familiarity. For me it was watching my husband talk GAS MILEAGE with one of our friends in the garage. GAS. Mileage. I don't know why, but it was intoxicating. I am sure yours was a much more spiritual experience than mine, but I will always remember that evening :)

Sydney... I clicked on this to see your first outfit post, not expecting to read about you falling in love again. Maybe this is too much to share in a comment but I have recently been hitting some marriage roadblocks. (Too much of that non-mystique-ness.) I want Nala Eyes again, Syd. I think you've shown me how to make it happen.

So thanks, from the bottom of my cute little heart.

I absolutely love your dress. & the fact that it is home sewn, even though it's Anthro, haha.
