F is for Family Night

Monday, May 24

OK. Confession time. So we aren't the best at having formal Family Home Evening's like we're supposed to. And we dont have any fancy excuses not to either. Just the simple {and yes, lame} excuse that there's only two of us. And that any opening song we attempted would be quickly turned into a solo by yours truly due to a lack of vocal support from the other party {ahem} So we just haven't.
But tonight was different. Yes-sir-ee, the Poultons have been movin' forward into a fancy-dancy new and improved version of themselves ... called the Better Poultons.

Tonight, we {the Better Poultons} had Family Home Evening. We put on our tennies, grabbed our Ensign and spent the most perfect evening on a walk through our neighborhood. We admired the milky pink sky and sucked in the air that smelled of lilacs and freshly cut grass. We picked out our most favorite house, with it's charming white pickett fence and swore to ourselves that maybe in our 30's we'd get something just like it. We held hands and talked about life while my sweet husband scouted out places I could hold my next photo shoot {he's got my back, that one}. We said hi to the neighbors who were walking their dogs and took pictures of ...everything. Then we found a Gazebo with a million pink flowers {i think it was waiting for us} and we sat for a while and read our faves from Conference to each other.
It was really great.

Lesson? Check
Activity? Check!
Song? ... Whelp. the better poultons are still tryin to turn into the best poultons. We'll get there.

Oh that sounds like the perfect FHE. If you could have seen ours... let's just say it ended with 3 boys and a dog wrestling on the floor. sigh.

I love this! What an inspiration you two are. :) We really need to start doing FHE. I love your blog Sydney. You're like the new Rockstar Diaries. :)
