the proposal

Sunday, January 10

First of all, I just have to say it again. My husband is the best, and surprisingly most romantic man I've ever met. Sorry Ladies.

Last night, after a long and slightly rough day {including minor car problems and an unfruitful printer-shopping trip}
we came home and plopped ourselves down on the couch, ready to relax and go brain-dead for a while with a movie. Or so I thought.
But Husband had other plans.{he's a sneaky guy, he is}
He quickly whipped out a blindfold and covered my eyes, then plugged an ipod into my ears, blasting my favorite Michael Buble, drowning out any noise he might have been making.
10 min later...
he took off my blindfold and I opened my eyes to this:

I wish you could have seen it in real life. This picture doesn't do it justice at all...it was just beautiful. With virtually every candle we own lit up in the living room, Matt Kearney's "All I Need" playing in the background and him looking at me with the sweetest look you've ever seen, I just couldn't help it:
I cried a little bit.
But that wasn't even the best part. He had set everything up perfectly for a little living room camp out: our huge sleeping bag, blankets and pillows were rolled out on the floor amidst "the campfire" and he had my "camping clothes" all laid out for me to change into in the bathroom. But it was when I came out of the bathroom that I had the biggest surprise of all:
My husband, my very best friend and the sweetest man I've ever known, was on one knee in the middle of our living room, holding a shiny ring box and smiling at me.

Then he proposed.
{a little too special to write down the whole thing here, but my love meter went up a whole 'nother notch for him just then}
He had gotten me a wedding band, now almost two years to the day since he had proposed the first time. And it's beautiful.

Just the best night ever! The rest of the camp-out was spent chowing down on our favorite jalapeno and cheddar kettle chips with some cottage cheese. {it's good people} and seeing if we could stuff both of us into our new mummy bag. {it kinda worked}

Husband I love you more than anything in the whole world.
Thanks for loving me.
