Every morning before he leaves for school,
I get a big kiss, a hug, an "I love you"...

and this.
Sometimes with two hands...
sometimes with gloves...
and on very special days, sometimes with spirit fingers. ooh la la

Trust me, it's hard to get a belly laugh out of me first thing in the morning.
But somehow he does.
This is why we're best friends.

These are some gorgeous city-scape shots Tys got while in Chicago over the weekend.
I'm so glad he went. It was such an amazing opportunity for him to go and network with CEOs and successful business men, all having achieved the same entrepreneurial-minded goals that Tys has for his own future. He LOVED being able to listen to them. He came home just overflowing with stories of the awesome people he met and things he had learned. Since then, he's been devouring all his new books he got from the conference and has been brainstorming new business plans that he can't wait to get started on. This conference was like a jump start to his internal CEO engine. I'm so proud of him.

He's a winner, he is.

Dear Jeans,
I'm going to be nice and wash you tomorrow.
So please try not to give me saggy butt
until I've worn you at least twice. That would be lovely.

I can't believe that we've known each other for over two years and this is the first time we've been festive enough to do some carvin'. I'd say the little guy turned out pretty darn cute though for a couple of first timers.
Cheers for mushy guts, buck-tooth smiles, and scrumptious baked seeds.
Here's to you Mr. Pumpkin

already?

Isn't he amazing? You can go check out more of his work here
We're saving our pennies, in hopes of booking ourselves a session with this wonder in April for our two year anniversary.  Wouldn't that be lovely?

This is us last Christmas 2008 on top of the Eiffel Tower. {Yes, I was blonde...but NEVER AGAIN} We were so lucky to be able to spend Christmas in Europe with Tys's wonderful family. It was the experience of a lifetime. Things I never thought I'd be able to say, but actually CAN: We've...
-Skiied the Alps. (Now that wouldn't sound so impressive if you had actually SEEN us. But still. It counts for something}
-Gone to Christmas Mass in the Notre Dame {interesting but beautiful}
-Kissed my love on top of the Eiffel Tower
-Seen the real life Moulin Rouge
-Bartered with French vendors.....gracious!
-Been serenaded by an accordionist and French singer over a delightful feast.
-Toured the Neuschwanstein Castle. Absolutely stunning.
-Eaten the BEST steak I've ever had in a small German pub/restaurant.
-Discovered Apple Schula... oh how I crave that stuff
-Had the Mona Lisa's eyes follow me around the room...the rumors are true people. It actually happens
-Rode a horse drawn carriage up to a castle. Too bad I forgot my princess dress.
-Rode through the tunnel where Princess Di was killed.
-Took an evening boat tour of Paris via the Seine River.
-And many other sweet moment with my honeybuns.
THANK YOU POULTONS for such lovely Christmas memories! We love you!

the magic question...

February 2008 was the magic month of the proposal. Tys surprised me with this beautiful diamond and i SAID YES. He picked it out all on his own...impressive right?

I have a small love affair with lipstick and table lamps...these two happen to be a couple of my favorites. Restoration Hardware has the BEST decor...this little baby is no exception. Bubble lamp...please be under my Christmas tree this year. And lip stain...you always make sure my lips are berry-licious and kissable at the same time. Husband thanks you.

Oh how i MISS him.
Husband is in Chicago over the weekend for a CEO convention {cause he's a stud and a business genius and president of the BYU-I chapter...i love him} but this is the first time I've been away from him this long COMPLETELY alone. :(
On the plus side...my house is finally clean, homework's done, and banana bread is in the oven. Amazing what happens when your cuddler goes missing.

This is us.
